Climate action and climate chaos mitigation should be at the top of the list for our minister of environment and climate change @LisaVDempster and NL should still be looking at ways to move away from big oil because

…by failing to point out the root causes of rising climate temperatures, like big oil extraction, we are failing to truly address the solution. There has been at least 3 community events that discussed a just transition this spring/summer that our minister did NOT to attend.

Converting oil dependency into energy independence should be the top goal in NL. We are giving millions of dollars in subsidies to entertain oil companies, when we could be spending it to advance our ocean economy, our wind economy, and hydrogen economy responsibly.

As the co chair of the @SSHRC_CRSH Anti-Black Racism Committee I am appalled to hear that the #EDIDDimensions program was discontinued by the #CRCC! I am calling out to have this decision reversed! @KamalKheraLib @AnitaAnandMP @MarciIen @FP_Champagne @cafreeland @viraniarif
The end of #Dimensions is crushing. So many worked so hard to make it happen esp @KirstyDuncanMP & fab @NSERC_CRSNG staff like @km_can @natou50 Canada desperately needs a more inclusive research ecosystem. A low cost, high impact program gone #disappointed affairesuniversitaires.ca/ac…

Seeing everyone's initial concern for the racist incident that happened to a young girl in Lewisporte die down once again, is not surprising-yet, still I'm sad that…

… and still I see random posts that say "eV3rY OnE iS EqUAl" when in reality we as a Black community know that's not true for many reasons.

A Black girl was almost publicly lynched in a small town in NL. A Facebook post won’t fix racism or protect our girls. It’s a slap in the face.

I was sadly surprised to see a large group of MHA’s, who acknowledged climate justice activists from @fffstjohns in September, act so childish and show zero regard for meaningful policy revisions to address climate change and renewable industry development.

This leaves us in a scare situation and puts pressure on our pockets and on our environment. As our politicians sit there and argue among each other about who is the best, and who did what first, we suffer increasing homelessness….

…and unliveable environmental conditions that inevitably destroy the homes that are left. Nothing was accomplished today, except for validating that the PC and Liberal parties cannot get over themselves long enough to come to a meaningful resolution.

Margaret Mead once said, helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts. I fear we are edging away from this as we see more people are forced into the underclass without any means of moving forward. This is unbelievable. @FureyAndrew you should be ASHAMED
For these five people, home is now three tents next to the Gaspar Corte-Real statue across from the Confederation Building. People deserve a safe affordable place to live, not tents. @NLNDPCaucus @GovNL @CBCNL @NTVNewsNL @VOCMNEWS @StJohnsTelegram
