Unreal. Zed scored to get Haudenosaunee back within one. The US turns it over, and Zed had the chance to tie it with just seconds left but Croddick made a doorstep save. USA wins 17-16 in a fun physical game.

8-8 tie at half turned into a 7-3 run in Q3 for @LacrosseCanada after a couple penalties opened things up for Malcolm/Peterson and the power play to pull away while Brett Dobson shut the door on some rushed USA attempts.

First quarter done in a flash!! Tied 4-4 with the best looks for both generated by clean Riorden/Ward saves.

FINAL Syracuse 13 Rutgers 7 McCool’s 8 saves, Mullen’s FOs, Jayden James’ defense, Tristan Whitaker’s hat trick & Kellogg/O’Farrell 2G. Rutgers was missing about 10 players, including newcomers Ezra Moore & Jack Combs plus JJ Aiello, Hayden Sommer. LSM Deacon Adams impressed.

End Q3 Cuse 10 Rutgers 4 Jayden James has been awesome matching up on Colin Kurdyla the last two frames, while Whitaker completed his hatty on a cut. Bogue Hahn is everywhere. Caden Kirst with four stops that quarter.

HALF Syracuse 6 Rutgers 3 Jimmy McCool and Cardin Stoller both made 8 saves each, but John Mullen’s face-off dominance (plus R-L invert goal) has tilted this the visitors’ way. Tucker Kellogg with two Q2 goals playing attack, Whitaker with a nice R alley jumper for his second.

END Q1: Syracuse 1, Rutgers 1 Jimmy McCool up to at least four saves here to end Q1. Good goalie battle as Cardin Stoller also has 4 svs. Kurdyla found Faulkner for a hitch and low shot for the opener, then another transfer in Tristan Whitaker got underneath to tie it.

The ACC vs. Ivy League challenge started with UNC and Duke hosting Princeton and Penn the first couple seasons, then when Duke opted out last year, Penn/Princeton hosted Syrause and UNC. Cornell swoops in this year as CSE nails the timing on this announcement after the SMU news.

Some great starter-quality close defensemen coming out! Can't wait to see who (if any) doesn't take their 5th year...who's ready to stop taking exams for a chance to get a higher rookie salary as a top pick?? 👀

With 5-in-5 in place, the available talent coming for the next PLL Draft might not be as deep as years past, but there's still quality talent at the top. Van Buren, Larkin, Sloat Headline 2027 Way-Ahead @PremierLacrosse Mock Draft (via @kevbrown89) READ: insidelacrosse.com/article/v…
