A guy bought a $1,500 Samsung TV 3 years ago. He watched Netflix. He watched YouTube. He watched sports on the weekends. He thought the picture looked fine. He assumed that's just what a modern TV looks like. His friend, a home theater installer who's calibrated over 2,000 TVs for a living, walked into his apartment, looked at the screen for about 5 seconds, and said: "You're watching everything in demo mode. The motion smoothing is on. The eco dimmer is cutting your brightness by 40%. Your TV is taking a screenshot of your screen every 30 seconds and selling your viewing data to advertisers. And you're watching a $1,500 panel in the same picture mode Best Buy uses under fluorescent lights to make TVs pop on a showroom wall." He changed 9 settings in 12 minutes. The picture looked like a different television. The soap opera effect disappeared. The colors became natural. The TV stopped spying on him. He told him: "I install TVs in homes that cost $2 million. And I install TVs in apartments that cost $1,200 a month. You know what they all have in common? Nobody has changed the default settings. Every single TV I walk up to Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL, Hisense is running in a picture mode designed to look good in a store, not in your living room. And every single one is collecting data about what you watch and selling it to third parties. Out of the box." He said TV manufacturers make more money from your data than they do from the TV sale itself. "That's why a 65-inch 4K TV costs $400 now. The hardware is sold at a loss or near-zero margin. The profit comes from tracking what you watch, when you watch it, and how long you watch it then selling that behavioral data to advertisers. Your TV is a surveillance device that also shows movies. And the settings to stop it are buried 6 menus deep on purpose." Here are the 9 settings he changed: 🧵

A guy I know spent $1,800 on a Samsung TV and genuinely thought he had the perfect picture. For THREE YEARS, he watched everything on it. Netflix at night. Football on weekends. Movies with his family. YouTube when he couldn't sleep. He never complained once. Then one day, a friend of his came over. She works professionally with home theater setups, so she casually looked at the TV and asked: “Wait… what picture mode are you using?” He checked. Vivid. She just stared at him. 😂 Then she said:

This man is spitting facts. Look at all the successful countries of the world development is not even within. Development goes only to where it’s needed there’s no spread. Even America is not evenly developed. Look at Egypt for example, only one superhighway, one railway system and one port is enough to run through the entire country. Nobody will build any roads in the desert

“I used to feel Nigerians are really bright. We have had over 500 vacancies since 2024, and we are still struggling to find Nigerians to fill those roles. They don’t meet global standards. I blame social media, yahoo & hook up culture..” ~ Moniepoint CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda says

THINGS TO DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER BUYING LAND You’ve paid, collected documents, even snapped picture on the land. Now what? 1. Do a Deed of Assignment – It transfers ownership to you legally. Don't skip it. 2. Register your land – At the Land Registry. If it’s not registered, the law may not protect you. 3. Get your own survey done – Even if the seller shows you theirs. Be sure what you paid for. 4. Fence it, or at least mark it – That bush is someone else’s goldmine if left open. 5. Keep al your documents safe – Scan copies and keep originals secure. No go dey look for "photocopy" in 10 years. Buy land like a future landlord, not a learner.

“2 Years Ago, Nigeria GDP was valued at $500bn but today, our GDP is valued at $199bn with per capital income dropping to less than $1,000 compared to $3,000 before this administration came into power. What this means is that, the quality of life of the people has plummeted and standard of living grossly destroyed” - Paul Alaje
