In a world that doesn’t uplift strong, motivating, black fathers…I’m shining the light on mine because I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. Being poured into on a daily, means more to me than any acknowledgment from strangers. How can I be a disappointment when this is who raised me? ❤️

Voters gave Shakira Dpoy and mvp votes, and she’s 1st team All Defense, but somehow she wasn’t the most improved player? Great job media

Shakira Austin went from not being named an All-Star to earning All-WNBA second team honors, after a historic season that lead the Mystics to a top 5 seed and franchise record 28 wins. EARNED IT 💐💐💐

I don't know who the voters are or what they were watching, but Shakira Austin was and is the real Most Improved Player of the Year for this season. My Mystics didn't have the NBC, ABC, USA Network, ESPN coverage that Jessica had because of Paige, but Shakira was excellent.

After not receiving any accolades since All Rookie Team in 2022, the WNBA media placed Shakira Austin on All Defensive 1st Team and All W 2nd Team but didn't give her Most Improved Player
