A huge welcome to @PACEYchildcare who are the newest organisation to join #PlayMatters. It’s so important that collective voices from the Early Years sector support the writing of this valuable document written by the sector. Thank you Pacey for your continual support.

The DFE stated that 40,000 additional early years staff are needed to provide the funded childcare in 2025. There are lots of great ideas to recruit but do we need to be honest here. Are we going to get that number?

PLAY IS LEARNING
Play is strongly linked to learning in young children, especially in areas such as problem-solving, language acquisition, literacy, numeracy, and social, physical, and emotional skills.

Take a moment to Reflect and Connect with each other today in the Early Years. We need to be working together for a common goal. It’s uncertain times while we all get our heads around things.

BERA Research Intelligence.Democracy & education by @CDRolph & @ProcessEdu bera.ac.uk/publication/autum… I argue that the centrality of play in the early years can act as the catalyst for successful child development and the emergence of positive and critically minded individuals.

The drive for the childcare expansion pushes on despite the worries about sufficient staff. However, our new flashing red is highlighting the seeming poor quality of newly qualified staff. What do you think?
