I handed in the manuscript for my first book this week. My dad, an author, just brought this round for me...🥰

In this stroller, there is now nothing but a bloody pulp. This is all that remains of the baby after today’s Russian shelling of a park in the Kharkiv region.

There are now novelists banned in Britain for their political opinions. And note the banned opinion is … opposing a genocide
I love these books - this is the third and, apparently, final one. 😢 The series came out of the friendship between writer Lucy Strange and artist Pam Smy, who both have a love of the gothic genre and all things spooky - an amazingly successful collaboration. @WalkerBooksUK
This is a seriously funny book! It's aimed at the 6-9 age group and that must be my humour level because I laughed out loud many times. 🙈 Readers are invited to help Buck and Ears solve the case and save them from a horrible fate... @WalkerBooksUK

Y2 boy’s first day, he’s never been to school before. At the end of the day, I see him. You ok, I ask.
I had a great day, he beams.
Excellent, I say, you can do it again tomorrow.
He stops. I’m not coming back tomorrow, he says.
I laugh out loud. Oh my lovely lad, I say, you are.
What a beautiful space Bretforton Theatrebarn is! Saw Krapp's Last Tape (Samuel Beckett) there last night, directed by Stockard Channing and starring David Westhead. Very powerful indeed. Had a chat with David as he was packing away at the end, what a lovely person.
Managed to badly strain a calf muscle jumping on a garden spade 🙈 and wasn't able to walk on it for a short while. Finally able to walk up a local hill and see the wild horses...🥰

Fascinating discussion with Eleanor Anstruther about her book Fallout, which is apparently the only fiction book based on the Greenham Common protests. I actually visited the protests as a child with my mum! @herefordfest
Such a fascinating talk by @CharlieEnglish1 as part of @HerefordFest about the CIA scheme to infiltrate millions of banned titles into the Eastern Bloc. It was emotional hearing a Ukrainian audience member describe the powerful impact of reading a smuggled copy of Animal Farm.

Had a lovely day at my Master's graduation! Wonderful to celebrate with other graduates at @WorcesterUni The focus of my dissertation was on outdoor learning to re-engage KS2 children at risk of permanent exclusion from school - there is a real gap in this research.
