Dear friends, I've been trying to trace back on our posts for Leo to say personal thank yous. You've all been so incredibly loving and kind. I've gotten as far back as the messages below, and lordy, there is so much kindness here. 😭 I've been at this all day, but I promise I will get to you. You should never go "unthanked". You took the time to read, to care, to share for him. I hope that you accept my words of gratitude in lieu of Priya's @gandolf_s for the time. She is unable to take the time right now, because the rescue needs all of her attention, even though in deep grief and unable to respond, as to see and read them leaves her in a puddle, and in rescue, you have to schedule your puddle as best you can. 15 kittens, 17 sanctuary seniors to feed, scoop, medicate where needed, clean...it's hard when your heart is breaking, and she is not feeling well on top of it. She'll be back on. I hope you don't go away if you don't see her posting. She just doesn't have the wherewithal right now. And this morning, our beautiful Tyde was taken through Emergency. Can she not just have ONE WEEK of peace😮‍💨 Tyde is quite sick. Gone off her food, doesn't want to be touched, coughing, diarrhea, sleeps all day, stopped grooming, sinuses sound blocked..she's a mess. Just an odd combination of symptoms. So they hospitalized her for exploratory testing. Another hair raising bill. 5 kittens are also scheduled this week for their spay/neuter. And the food cupboard is in dire need. 32 bellies to fill. 🐾Forgotten Field Update🐾 Priya went out to the Forgotten Field to feed and check on everyone late yesterday. Everyone was fed, watered and although a crap life to live in a field, seemed to be resting in their shelters and doing as well as can be expected for strays. On her way back to the car, she saw movement at the edge of the parking lot... And, uh, well...oh hell...A new mother and her kitten, not seen there before. A worker (Bob) nearby said, "oh, yea, uh, that mother had 4 other kittens, but they got run over". Given so nonchalantly as though she was asking for driving directions. 😡 The mother & baby were panting in hot humid late afternoon heat, so thirsty they were licking what was a brief rain shower off the cement parking lot for any moisture they could find. She noted Bob (on his dollar store name tag)was standing there watching them with a bottle of nice cold water in his hand. He asked, are you one of them rescuers? She said "yes". He said, "well, you better rescue them, they're gonna die here". Bob...you're an incredible piece of work. You couldn't even give them a drink of your water. You see, Priya runs up against this kind of apathy all the time. I'm sure all rescuers do. It's maddening. You ask what makes a rescuer so upset...it's this kind of attitude, and non-help. If he had pulled out a Fiver and said, "Here, let me help you", she would have fainted dead away. But it literally never happens. Sorry to go on about it, but these people...where is the kindness? And so😮‍💨... ...meet number 17 & 18 of cats saved in the past 5 weeks from the Forgotten Field. This is the 3rd adult female, and now 15 kittens. May this beautiful momma's four other sweet babies rest in flowered fields of love. 💔 We hadn't planned on taking in any more at the moment, as we are full to the rafters and everyone brought in needs vetting! But...you can't turn your back to let them play in traffic. Safe now @gandolf_s Little works of art... They too, need the vet. If you are able to help?
