Citi raising their 2030 CPU TAM once again, this time to $300B, while at the same time raising $AMD pt to 800
Citi updates their CPU model, raising CPU TAM from $137B to $237B in 2030, with $AMD being the main beneficiary and $INTC the secondary. "We update our CPU model post earnings and Hot Chips. We believe the CPU TAM expands from $29B in 2025 to $237B (previously $137B) in 2030, or a 52% CAGR. We expect general purpose CPUs to grow at a 21% CAGR to $52B in 2030, AI head nodes to grow at a 50% CAGR to $63B in 2030, and agentic CPUs to grow at a 230% CAGR to $123B in 2030. We model general purpose CPUs to represent 22% of the TAM in 2030, AI head nodes to represent 26% of the TAM in 2030, and agentic CPUs to represent 52% of the TAM by 2030. For reference, Arm forecasted a TAM of $100B by 2030, $AMD forecasted a TAM of $220B by 2030, and Nvidia forecasted a TAM of $200B. With these updates, we now model total server CPU units to grow from ~30 million units in 2025 to 76 million units in 2030, or 21% CAGR (previously 17%). We believe Intel units could grow at 14% CAGR, $AMD units could grow at 31% CAGR (previously 25%), and Arm units could grow at 26% CAGR (previously 25%) We adjust our 2030 share estimates with our updated model. By 2030, we expect Intel to have 46% share (unchanged), AMD to have 37% share (previously 35%), and Arm/Others to have 17% share (previously 20%). We are more optimistic about AMD’s near-term share opportunity with its leading TCO and supply allocation, as well as confidence in Intel ramping supply and improving yields. Most of our Arm shipment forecasts are coming from Nvidia Arm-based CPUs. We continue to expect $AMD to be the primary beneficiary of the CPU renaissance, and $INTC to be a secondary beneficiary given its manufacturing capacity and improving long-term roadmap."

Combine MTK winning $GOOGL TPU and Anth/OAI slowdown ($AVGO 1-2 and 3 customers) - we might see some selling in $AVGO today. According to Taiwanese supply chain rumors, Google’s 2028 TPU generation will consist of two chips: Humufish and Triggerfish. MediaTek is said to have won both design contracts. (h/t @jukan05)

Looks like $SPCX will order stuff directly from ODMs, instead of $SMCI as previewed earlier. Also negative for $DELL. See jefferies desk below:
Jefferies desk: "our latest channel checks show that $SPCX and $CRWV plan to buy AI servers directly from Taiwanese ODMs instead of purchasing 100% from $DELL"

Some comments re $INTC Jeff desk: $INTC Just hitting the tape this morning – INTC officially announced a $15bn equity offering for capex and working capital (link here) – stock down -3% pre-market. Quite well expected by the market in the past few months, and especially after CFO comments during the 2Q earnings call indicating this possibility (see below). Initial feedback is that the size of the raise is smaller than expected, and likely a +ve indicator for their progress foundry customers – does this remove an overhang for the stock? Rocha from Wells: In terms of the headlines and callouts… INTC is raising $15B of equity which they say will be used for capex and working capital. The stock is -4% on this news naturally, but this is a good indicator that progress in Foundry is progressing re: acquiring customers. You don’t raise capital for capex unless you have orders in hand. The stock is down on the equity raise but this is a bullish sign IMO.

Bluefin has a rather interesting nugget on $SMCI today hidden on the second page. Looks like Elon is so rack-hungry he doesn't mind some hairdryers consuming power too that in addition to 80 racks they awarded to SMCI, they've added 1500. Incremental $5.2B positive.

Both MSCO and JPM raising $ASML EUV ests today, '28 EUV units now at 104 and 105, respectively. Super bullish notes, upping ests and PTs, too. MSCO PT to €1,660 and JPM to €1,900 ($2,200) JPM: "The Street is Behind the Curve: ‘27/’28 Numbers Need a Rewrite"

This is a catastrophic signal for neoclouds like $CRWV and $NBIS. These companies exist because compute was scarce. When someone like SpaceX enters the rental market with 220,000 GPUs at once, they become the 800lb gorilla. SpaceX has the advantage of vertical integration and they can underprice neoclouds into oblivion just to keep their utilization rates at 100%. Anthropic was a crown jewel customer for specialized clouds. If they are moving their heavy lifting to SpaceX then the moat for neoclouds just evaporated. Now regarding xAI: Colossus 2 is supposed to bring them toward 1 million GPUs, but if they can't even utilize the first 200k for a winning internal model, the Gigafab becomes a massive, expensive monument to overcapacity for them. If xAI had a model capable of leapfrogging GPT-5 or Claude 4, they would be using every single one of those 220,000 H100s/GB200s to train it. You don’t let a direct competitor take over your primary training ground unless: - xAI’s research might have hit a wall where throwing more compute at Grok isn't yielding proportional returns. - Maintaining a 300MW facility with 200k+ GPUs costs billions in power and debt service. If they can’t justify the internal training run right now, they have to rent it out to stop the bleeding. - Musk will clean up the books for a SpaceX IPO. Renting out the hardware makes SpaceX a high-margin infra provider rather than a high-risk research lab. $TSLA
We’ve agreed to a partnership with @SpaceX that will substantially increase our compute capacity. This, along with our other recent compute deals, means that we’ve been able to increase our usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API.

Canaccord putting some clarity into CLARITY news. This is positive for $CRCL for sure. I rarely want to argue with the market but sure seems like yesterdays move was to the opposite direction. Recall they are the most regulatory-compliant stablecoin globally.

Companies will now see mass layoffs and AI vibe coded efficiency as a guaranteed stock boost from this $XYZ stuff. It’s a dangerous lesson, but they’ll chase the rally anyway. It’s a nice perfect storm here - $WDAY and $CRM were bought and people tried catching the $IGV bottom yesterday. Now it looks like seat based SaaS companies can fall hell of a lot further. I’m short a basket of them today, including $ADP $INTU $VEEV $TEAM $MNDY $ASAN $ZM $HUBS $DOCU $NOW $CRWD $ZS (yes, I know) $OKTA $NET

Hmm. Interesting headline. Feisty one.🧐 “SemiAnalysis: Rubin HBM from Micron = zero. HBM4 supply consolidates into a SK hynix / Samsung split (70/30).” Let me explain a bit. It makes sense if NVIDIA is de-risking the HBM4 transition by prioritizing whoever is furthest along in packaging and integration readiness. But I have to add some nuance, based on the HBM framework I’m building for the whole sector. Micron historically hasn’t optimized for the first volume shipment. Their current strategy still isn’t focused on that. They usually show up stronger in the second volume ramp once yield learning compounds and qualification stabilizes. That’s a risk usually. In demand heavy enviroment less. Because the other two players benefit from cumulative yield learning during the initial HBM4 ramp. What you usually see in memory cycles: • Leader ships first • Second supplier closes the yield gap • Platform adds them to diversify supply risk Especially if pricing power remains strong and NVIDIA wants elasticity in the supply chain. Zero market share at launch doesn’t mean permanent exclusion. If Micron closes yields fast and has capacity, they can still enter with volume before HBM4E. Now the nuance. Micron also said they’re fully sold out for 2026. “Sold out” doesn’t automatically mean they anticipated missing Rubin. It could mean capacity is already committed elsewhere likely other NVIDIA programs like Blackwell variants, where they already qualified on HBM3E. The more direct signal I’m watching: Did Micron expect exclusion from the first Vera Rubin wave? That’s the piece of information that actually matters. HBM is a pure execution market. Sequencing matters 10x more than the headlines everyone gets hyped on. I expect to finish the full HBM research at the end of the month, aligned with the launch of our new platform. Yesterday I already shared which strategy I’m advising members. $MU $NVDA $AMD $000660.KS $005930.KS
SemiAnalysis: We reduce Micron’s $MU share of Nvidia Rubin HBM to zero. We currently do not see indications of Nvidia ordering Micron HBM. We expect Nvidia’s HBM4 supply to consolidate SK Hynix and Samsung at a 70/30 split.

During MicroStrategy’s latest earnings call, the order of its preferred equity tickers was rearranged to spell “FCKED.” The company is now sitting on more than $7B in Bitcoin losses, down roughly $45B from its peak, while its stock has collapsed by over 85%. They’re leaving little hints in plain sight, almost mocking their own investors.
