Shift in the axis of heavy snow - Central NJ and the I-78 corridor could see a lot more than forecast ...
4-8" is possible tomorrow from a corridor stretching from Princeton to Morristown, with locally higher amounts possible.
At New Brunswick, the strongest atmospheric dynamics will line up nicely with the region of maximum snow growth tomorrow morning (circle 1). But ... will the cold air be strong enough at the surface? The freezing line BARELY reaches the surface (circle 2).

Not sure if anyone still uses Twitter these days(!), but I want to get the word out that I will soon be hiring 2 postdocs (and recruiting PhD students) to join me at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. All things ocean, carbon, and climate. (1/2)
Was just chatting on Monday with @DeepBlueSeaNext and @keturner8 about this!
SNOW way! Tucson has had more snow than Washington D.C and Philadelphia this season. How do you feel about this?!? @NWS_BaltWash @NWS_MountHolly

Disagree. Speak truth to power. Scientific integrity and reputations matter. Work as a team to get the right message across.

That’s out of the hands of meteorologists. We don’t stack the shows or produce the promos. We just forecast the weather.

This is encouraging news. Are we sure they are decoupled, or are we now in lag-correlated regime? That little blip at the end of the hospital time series is a bit troubling. @ScottGottliebMD??

Around Antarctica, a vast current acts as the world's climate engine. New science is revealing the power it holds over the future, and researchers are alarmed at what they’re learning as ice shelves retreat. nyti.ms/3yqvViO
Please consider applying for a new physical oceanography #postdocjob position at @Princeton University and @NOAA GFDL. We are seeking candidates who are interested in studying surface ocean extremes.
