Air purifier companies, please STOP reaching out to me. I work in public policy to make clean air a reality, not a luxury. My ambition is a world where air purifiers are obsolete. I cannot endorse a calamity-fuelled, overpriced fan-and-filter apparatus masquerading as a solution.
Indians have no option but to work hard because they are not protected by authorities against enslavement by organisations against lower than dignified pay.

The greatest mystery in Indian economics:
You spend 15 years studying, land a job and watch 30% TDS disappear before your salary even hits your bank account.
Meanwhile, the local ward corporator, who has no traceable business on paper:
Cruises in a convoy of 2 white fortuners, builds a multi crore mansion in your locality, and spends your entire annual CTC just putting up birthday hoardings across the junction.
In India, an honest corporate career buys you a 20 year EMI.
Local politics buys you generational real estate.

If I have to buy an air purifier because of government's inability to control pollution, why should I also bear the tax on air purifiers? – at Delhi, India

And these are schools minting several crore in net profit each year, paying zero taxes. Look at their chindi chor attitude. Poor parents forking out money each year for air purifiers. Why should the Owners not install these purifiers? Or the government?

We are in a public health emergency. Our leaders are silent as usual. Huge population is suffering with symptoms like burning eyes, coughing, damaged lungs. Our leaders are silent because everyone of them got thousands of air purifiers in their offices, home and their cars.

Tbh, that’s a very poor choice of tone and language for the Prime Minister of a country.

Ye halaat yunhi thodi hai. Education is a market commodity, universities have lost their purpose as spaces of dissent and debate. We're creating dumb robots. Brilliant piece by my dear friend Anumeha.

One would expect an address by the PM at a World Summit to talk about India’s place in the world, the government’s foreign and economic policies, broader vision for region and the world amid ongoing tumults and wars . But when the speech is reduced to simply opposition, youth, citizens and critics bashing political rhetoric with no world view offered, the comments section on such remarks starts to tell a story.
#WATCH | Delhi: At the NDTV World Summit, PM Narendra Modi says, "Protests that naturally seek to highlight the shortcomings of the government, that genuinely aim to improve the system, which is essential for a healthy democracy, are also destroyed by the Congress. The Congress has become a parasite that refuses to let anyone else progress. Dimagi Naxals have taken such a firm grip on the Congress’s mindset that the party has lost its own capacity to think..."
