SORRY FOR THE LONG REPLY BUT I think this in itself is a rather shallow way of looking at relationships since I think connection isn't exclusively physical I think it's totally possible and normal to develop genuine emotional and intellectual intimacy without ever meeting irl, and I don't think physical proximity should be the determining factor in whether someone's feelings are considered genuine Though if you know what works for you thats completely fine! Since all relationships and individuals are different I just wouldn't say online relationships are inherently shallow
