Please take a moment to listen to @chiefcindyafn's message on Truth and Reconciliation Day.
“Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and every child matters, every single day.”
On Orange Shirt Day, National Chief @chiefcindyafn shares a message about the enduring impacts of the residential school system, the courage of survivors like Phyllis Webstad and all those who were taken from their families, and the strength of First Nations languages and cultures.

The cowardly act that took place at Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc yesterday is abhorrent. It has no place in this country. My thoughts are with everyone who is shaken and hurt by this disgusting display of hate.
This week, we will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a stark reminder of our shared responsibility to confront the devastating legacy of the residential school system and the consequences still felt today. Courageous Survivors shared the truth so that all Canadians could take up the work of reconciliation.

Three weeks ago tonight, the people of North Vancouver–Capilano placed your trust in me to be our Member of Parliament.
Today, I was sworn in and took my seat in the House of Commons.
As Parliament resumes its work at this decisive moment for Canada’s future, I will be carrying forward the priorities I heard at thousands of doors in every neighbourhood across our riding. That includes:
- Standing strong against unjust tariffs
- Bringing down everyday costs & building more affordable homes
- Improving infrastructure and transportation to keep pace with a growing North Shore
- Protecting our environment
- Keeping Canadians safe and protecting our rights and sovereignty
- Defending the vital programs that families depend on.
That is how we will build the North Shore strong and build Canada strong – one person, one problem, one promise kept at a time. 🇨🇦

I am outraged at a shooting incident at the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville last evening, as the Jewish community marked Yom Kippur.
Jewish communities must be able to feel safe in Canada. I’m thinking of the officer who was injured while responding, and wishing him a speedy recovery.
Law enforcement have our full support as they continue their investigation.

Last night, on the holiest night of the Jewish calendar, a shooting took place outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville.
A police officer was shot and the community has been left shaken.
Jewish people must be able to worship safely. To live free, open, proud Jewish lives. Canada’s government will do everything in our power to support law enforcement in ensuring that the perpetrator is held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
My thoughts are with the injured officer and his family, and the entire Jewish community.

Last night at #Gander ‘s iconic airport, 10 speakers recited 9/10 “untold stories” including 1 US pilot & 1 U.S student. They thanked the people of Gander for their kindness /generosity. The U.S. Ambassador @petehoekstra sat quietly, listening. Later, others reminisced. #cdnpoli
