A lot of us were very willing to have a debate without heat, @stonewalluk, and the reason that never happened wasn't because gender critical feminists didn't want one. While we were trying to get you to listen to our concerns, your former CEO was telling a BBC boss that gay people not wanting to include the opposite sex in their dating pool was 'sexual racism'. While we were pointing out the homophobia inherent in gender ideology, Stonewall ambassador Alex Drummond (a bearded, heterosexual man who'd had no surgery and taken no cross-sex hormones but liked wearing skirts), was going into schools to talk to students about his 'lesbian' identity. @BluskyeAllison, who actually is a lesbian, was subject to unlawful discrimination at her place of work for tweeting: ‘Stonewall recently hired Morgan Page, a male bodied person who ran workshops with the sole aim of coaching heterosexual men who identify as lesbians on how they can coerce young lesbians into having sex with them. Page called [it] “overcoming the cotton ceiling”.’ When the UK Supreme Court upheld women's right to single sex spaces, you issued a statement expressing your unhappiness about the ruling. In her report on your unhappy influence at the University of Essex, you were found by barrister @akuareindorf to have misrepresented the law as it related to women's rights: '[Stonewall have] stated the law as Stonewall would prefer it to be, rather than the law as it is’. In 2018, you publicly advised schools to shred a research pack saying there were risks to puberty blockers, in spite of the fact that you aren't a medical charity and that there was already credible evidence that puberty blockers are neither irreversible nor harm-free. Meanwhile you produced your own educational packs, recommending a children's book, for ages 5-9, in which the parent 'is neither a man, nor a woman – they’re non-binary.' In July 2022, Stonewall sent out a tweet that read ‘Research suggests that children as young as two recognise their trans identity'. @thetimes has reported how you've sought to control the language used by NHS trusts and government on their social-media accounts. Organisations would get points from you for replacing commonly understood words with ideologically approved terms, eg, 'birthing parent' instead of 'mother'. thetimes.com/uk/society/arti… In short, you took a maximalist position on gender identity ideology, which you attempted to enforce by diktat. You refused to acknowledge that you'd hitched your wagon to a cause that, unlike civil rights, gay rights or women's rights, sought to strip rights from others. You sought to curtail everyone's right to freedom of speech and belief by controlling what it was permissible to think and say, through the management and political class. You have argued against women's and girl's rights to their own spaces, their sports and to assemble without men. Your former CEO tried to shame gay women/men into dating the opposite sex if the latter claimed to be female/male. Your mantra was 'no debate' because, like all totalitarians, you preferred slogans, bullying and infiltration of powerful institutions to talking to opponents. You appear to have had no concern for the lowly people your ideology was harming: gender confused kids, female rape victims, female prisoners, regular people hounded and investigated at their places of work for refusing to accept the new mandates on sex and gender issued from on high. Your 'activism' has been a disaster for those trans-identified people who really do just want to get on with their lives in peace. You have besmirched the name of an organisation many of us were once proud to donate to, the charity that was partly responsible for securing the legal right of gay people to marry, which a lot of us thought would never happen in our lifetimes. The milquetoast words quoted below do not erase a decade of gender activism that has been disastrous not only for individuals but for society as a whole. There was once a debate to be had, but until you acknowledge the direct harm you've caused, it is no more possible to debate you than to persuade a person in the throes of a drug-induced psychosis that they are not, in fact, the reincarnated Christ.

🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me. The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated. Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS. Me for the Sunday Times… thetimes.com/article/cfde7b4…

Just once, I’d love to see trans activists and their supporters answer @jk_rowling’s measured and cogent arguments without misrepresenting them or screaming insults. They could start by reading her latest piece and addressing what she actually says, rather than what they imagine she is secretly thinking. Too much to ask? jkrowling.com/opinions/an-up…

Doctors harm children with unevidenced treatments. Safeguarding leads try to raise the alarm. Senior doctors silence and punish them. The doctors' regulator doesn't see a problem. The rot is too wide and deep for individual cases. We need a public inquiry.

Never has an award recipient been more deserving! @jk_rowling
Bill Maher just awarded J.K. Rowling the Cojones Lifetime Achievement Award for refusing to bow to public pressure over her views on biological sex. Bill Maher says Rowling is famous for being endlessly vilified for refusing to cow-tow to the opinion that a biological woman and a trans woman are indistinguishable. Bill Maher: “I’m sorry you had to hear that kids feel free to call a suicide hotline or post an angry TikTok.”

The BBC has announced a two-part documentary on J.K. Rowling. I’d like to be wrong, but I’m not optimistic she gets a fair shake. Episode one is a victory lap: the Edinburgh cafés, the books, the billions. Episode two is where the trouble starts. It frames her as “one of Britain’s most polarising public figures,” and the producer says her “unflinching personal beliefs” sparked a “fraught and divisive dialogue.” That’s not a biography. That’s a setup. Notice the pattern. The BBC casts her views — keeping women safe from predatory men in female only spaces — as the problem. The release says she finds herself divided from actors and fans who once championed her. It never mentions the women she was defending. It also doesn’t say who will be interviewed other than to say it will include “people who worked with her.” Full disclosure: @trishaposner and I share a London literary agent with her. But after four decades reporting on controversial subjects, I don’t pull punches for anyone. I recently walked away from Simon & Schuster, my publisher of many years, over its refusal to condemn a novelist’s vile anti-Jewish hatred. I’m not defending Rowling out of loyalty. Her activism has been one of the great campaigns for women everywhere. She never asked for the fight and never ran from it, and she took on enormous powers to protect women. I admire and stand with J.K. Rowling. I hope the BBC proves me wrong but I am not counting on it.

And Zelensky said he knew nothing about this ceasefire. It’s almost as though Donald Trump has made it all up to detract attention away from the shameful diesel deal that is bringing such widespread condemnation…….
Russia has attacked a power plant in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv despite President Trump’s statement earlier Sunday that both sides had agreed to an "energy ceasefire," according to Ukrainian officials. abcnews.link/Utz3iny

Ukraine’s freedom is not President Trump’s to bargain away. He is wrong to ease sanctions on Russian diesel, wrong to blame President Zelensky for prolonging Putin’s war, and wrong to undermine a nation fighting for its right to exist. Russia is the aggressor. Always has been. Reward Russia, and we should expect to see more aggression, including from other countries. We can also kiss goodbye to any just and lasting peace. This is why Conservatives have stood with Ukraine against Putin. Ukraine’s future belongs to Ukrainians. They alone have the right to choose their president, and we stand with President Zelensky because he fights not for himself, but for the survival of his country and his people.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

The draft Conversion Practices Bill is trans activism's attempt to reverse the gains of Forstater and For Women Scotland. It will encourage and enable trans activist bullying that will make what we've seen so far look trivial.

This is shaping up to be one of the most shocking stories yet of the harms of gender ideology, and the unwillingness of institutions to do their jobs.
NHS Sussex and NHS England were formally warned Brighton trans doctor was out of control in 2020, documents show. Whistleblower alleges unknown number of children harmed as eventual investigation (which began in 2025) had limited scope. genderblog.net/nhs-knew-of-c…

A classic example of how playing the ‘both sides’ card is a means of avoiding, or even denying, obvious truths. “We can never allow conflict overseas to divide us at home”, Khan says. But only one side imports the conflict here. Only one side targets the other on British streets every week. The two sides are not, in fact, the same.

The Greens have fielded candidates who called Jews “cockroaches” and “devil worshippers”. Their members have smeared political opponents as fascists while cheerleading actual fascism in the form of Hamas. And now this. The Green Party is the new BNP.

Replying to @JohnSwinney
This is a masterclass in statistical lying to manufacture a constitutional grievance. You claim the Prime Minister is taking “up to £4bn from Scotland's pensioners to pay for social care in England”, but your own Deputy First Minister’s letter admits that £4bn figure is an unadjusted cash-terms extrapolation for 2049–50, nearly a quarter of a century away. Terrifying pensioners today with compounding spreadsheet projections for 24 years in the future is cynical politics. More importantly, the claim that Scottish money is going south to fund English care is completely fabricated. Social care is fully devolved. If the UK Government invests money into an English National Care Service, the Barnett formula automatically triggers massive, proportional block grant windfalls straight into Holyrood's bank account. Scotland doesn't pay for English care; Holyrood gets a cash payout because of it. The ultimate irony is that Scotland’s population is ageing faster than the rest of the UK. Scottish pensions are currently underwritten by a 68-million-strong UK tax base and an annual £25.3bn UK Treasury fiscal transfer. If Scotland were independent, facing a 10% structural deficit without a central bank, you couldn't maintain existing state pensions on Day 1, let alone in 2050. Honest John?😂

Oof - this one hits hard. If Dr P is right, anyone who affirmed a 'trans' colleague made things worse for them. Horrifying to think that employers forced their staff to do this for YEARS - and many are still doing it. Link to @Psychgirl211's unflinching new interview ⬇️

All of Carlson’s disingenuous techniques are on display here. Half-truths, quotes of context, taking what the other person says and twisting it. Mehdi has a similar playbook. You have to be exceptionally good even to hold your own, and Rees Mogg owns him.
