The program pioneered geriatric assessments, treating the whole person—from nutrition and mobility to support systems.
For Christine Sam, MD, her passion began with caring for her grandmother. Now she ensures every patient's goals, whether staying independent at home or chasing grandkids, are part of their cancer care.
In the lab, Ana Gomes, PhD, (@lab_gomes) studies how aging biology fuels cancer. Her team is uncovering how metabolism, lifestyle and even existing drugs could reshape treatment for older adults.

Today I toured our #SperosFL campus under construction in Pasco County alongside @MoffittNews COO Sabi Singh and Board Chair Tim Adams. Incredible to see the progress and vision coming to life, from the Discovery & Innovation Center to the Speros Outpatient Center and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Proton Center. Excited to welcome our first patients in January 2026!
