In this thread @MouinRabbani explains why the ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by Israeli forces in Gaza is as obvious as it is horrifying. It is a crime forhold. It is unbearable to witness.
THREAD: Senior Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, are again publicly advocating the ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip. Their proposals are being presented as voluntary emigration schemes,

The tide is turning against Israel & its defenders, against permanent war & its defenders, against war profiteering & its beneficiaries. Most people are realising that the system is deeply corrupt & rigged. These changes could herald a massive structural shift in our politics in the UK, the US & the EU

It's all well and good for WEOG and Eastern Europe to vote overwhelmingly to support the #ICC. But will those states do anything practical to actually defend it? It's been nearly a month since the US sanctioned the Court as an entity, and so far... nothing.
Replying to @ezejim7
By regional group, yes votes from States Parties: WEOG 25/25 Eastern Europe 17/20 Africa 22/33 Asia-Pacific 10/17 GRULAC 15/28. 89 of the 93 yes votes came from States outside the membership the Court.

When someone says, “I don't know how to help,” remind them that there is something simple yet powerful they can do. Share our posts. Leave a dot in the comments. Make our voices heard. Every share, every comment, and every act of solidarity matters. The algorithm of genocide and oppression can be challenged through collective resistance, public exposure, and continued condemnation of the Israeli terrorist regime. Do not underestimate the power of your voice. Silence helps injustice. Speaking out is an act of resistance. Stand with Gaza. Keep sharing. Never stop speaking out.

Why Republicans said they abandoned the party, according to the VP: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel The biggest losers in the midterms: the State of Israel & the Military Industrial Technology Complex
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

We are getting contacted by companies that want to buy the rights to our internal operational and workflow data, including internal emails. We of course aren't going to do this, even though the offer is on its face quite lucrative, because I have no interest in helping build a future in which humans become not much more than sources of data, and maybe eventually not even that. I'm not anti-AI by any stretch, but selling a large corpus of data on how experienced and knowledgeable people think, communicate, make decisions, etc internal to organizations and in private, trusted groups so that machines can replicate those activities crosses a line for me. I hope the rest of you business owners share this conviction. Like and repost if you do.

🚨 81.6% of all "public" land mobilised for investment by Morocco between 2024 and mid-2026 was in occupied #WesternSahara, a territory Morocco has no sovereignty over and no right to allocate land in. The figures come from Morocco's own budget documents. wsrw.org/en/news/morocco-all…

Self-determination is not a talking point. It means the people of #WesternSahara must be free to choose their future – and thus also to reject #Morocco's proposal. Several #UNSC members said they supported that right, but their votes told another story. wsrw.org/en/news/when-countr…

Italians refuse to stay silent and sit idle in the face of a genocide and the normalisation of war. The global awakening has started and so the peaceful uprising against the globalisation of Apartheid. Together we are ONE, standing for peace, human rights & love for one another.
🇮🇹 Tens of thousands of workers, students, truckers and farmers marched in more than 40 Italian cities on Friday in a general strike against soaring living costs, rearmament and European support for wars in the Middle East, including the genocide in Gaza, according to Italian news agency Adnkronos. Police counted 30,000 in Milan, where marchers shut down the eastern ring road for three hours, while organizers claimed over 100,000, according to Italian broadcaster TGCom24. A speaker in Turin put the crowd there at more than 50,000. The grassroots union USB, which called the strike, claimed 2 million nationwide showed up to challenge Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's "war economy." Protesters blocked the port in Genoa with burning tires, TGCom24 reported, and marched into Naples port, demanding that ports not be used to move "weapons, ammunition, military equipment and troops." In Rome, police charged about 300 students who threw stones and Molotov cocktails. At least 10 officers were injured in Mestre and Vicenza, according to Adnkronos. Transport Minister Matteo Salvini had ordered rail, air, sea and transit workers to stay on the job, but the order was dismissed by USB as "illegitimate." 🎥 Milan

Unprecedented development at the #UNSC on the #WesternSahara file. For the first time, Russia has circulated a rival draft resolution to challenge the US text ahead of today's MINURSO vote. Major escalation in diplomatic maneuvering.
NEW: #Russia circulates rival #UN Security Council draft resolution on #WesternSahara, offering an alternative to the #US text. Both drafts would renew #MINURSO’s mandate until 31 October 2027, but they take notably different approaches to the political process and the mission’s future. Russian draft below.
