Lutheranism isn’t the rejection of the catholic & orthodox Church. It’s the call to return to it. We embrace the ancient Church, we confess the faith once delivered to the saints purified by the Word. The Augsburg Confession wasn’t a new beginning but the old faith restated. ☩

It doesn't matter if its satire or not: this is 100% consistent with papist "theology." They're not Christians.

And then there are Lutherans, who understand that the papacy is Antichrist and there are still brothers in Rome…

Hamilton Lincoln Law Institute @HamLincLaw is hiring attorneys! If your BigLaw firm only does left-wing pro bono or sneers at your @FedSoc membership, if you’ve billed 250 hours this month on discovery that will never matter and would prefer spending more time with your family, or if you miss thinking about the law from first principles instead of writing kitchen-sink briefs you know are tendentious—read on. We’re looking for strong writers who are smart, self-starting, computer-literate, detail-oriented, and can work independently from home in a flat organization; who hate rent-seeking and love the free market; who have BigLaw-or-government-litigation or clerkship experience; who know the difference between abuse of discretion and de novo review; who read judicial opinions, Garner, and Volokh for fun; who can do their own ECF filing; and who want to be thrown in the deep end. You have opinions about typography, and hate cy pres, rent-seeking, and DEI nonsense. You noticed this paragraph used “rent-seeking” twice and wanted to edit it. Our last six attorneys went to Chicago, Chicago, Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, and UCLA Law. Our alumni have had four presidential nominations to super-cool Senate-confirmed positions; one became a state SG. We can’t promise that you’ll be up for the Fifth Circuit in 2038 if you work for us, but it apparently doesn’t hurt much. We're known for our class-action objections that are taught in 1L and have gone to the Supreme Court and won hundreds of millions for consumers and shareholders, but we’ve also successfully challenged FCC abuses in the D.C. Circuit, regularly beat California in First Amendment lawsuits, won a settlement for a client against a top law school’s DEI program, are challenging a Virginia anti-landlord law, are suing left-wing NGOs engaging in civil terrorism, and are expanding our public-interest wings. Maybe you have ideas for our next lawsuit. Junior attorneys get first-chair work in federal court if they want it. Most HLLI attorneys have argued and won their first federal appeals with us. We’ll match experience-equivalent GS scale; you can moonlight in your own practice. We believe in Moneyball: part-time is possible. Bonus points for CA/DC/FL/IL/NY bar. Email Ted Frank with resume, transcript, writing sample, preferred hourly/salary requirements, and why you want to work with us. (Our first filter is whether you can figure out my email address.) Please don’t hold the cringe AI slop against us, the algorithm prefers it.

To every American, and to everyone watching France burn from abroad: Do not blame the French people for this. We never asked for it. We never voted for it. And the one time we were clearly asked, we said no. Here are the numbers your media won't show you. 70% of the French say there are too many immigrants in France today. 79% want a tougher immigration policy. 77% disapprove of the government's record on immigration. 83% want foreign criminals and long-term unemployed foreigners sent home. And no, it's not just the old. 69% of French 18 to 24 year olds support suspending legal immigration for three years. This is not a fringe. This is the French people. In 2005, we were asked if we wanted the European Constitution. 55% voted no. Three years later, our politicians passed the same text under another name, through parliament, without ever asking us again. That is modern France in one sentence. The people say no. The elites do it anyway. So who is responsible? The politicians who lied to us. A class of leaders formed in the same schools, the same forums, the same networks, loyal to each other before they are loyal to their nations. In 2017, at Harvard, Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, bragged about his Young Global Leaders program in four words: "We penetrate the cabinets." He added that it was true in France. Emmanuel Macron was one of his Young Global Leaders. It's the same project in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and in Paris with Macron. Borders treated as an obstacle. Nations treated as relics. The people treated as a problem to be managed. What you are watching in France is not the French people failing. It is the end of the globalist project, an abject, quasi-communist dream of a world run by unelected planners. It is collapsing everywhere in Europe at once, and the West has to cut this cancer out before it takes the rest of the body with it. The peoples of Europe don't want this. They never did. So when you see our town halls burning, don't say "the French chose this." The French never chose this. They were forced into it. If you're French and you agree, repost this so the world hears it from us. If you're American, look at us carefully. Then choose differently on November 3rd.

Rivalries are gone. Regular season doesn’t matter anymore. College football is dead.
Breaking: The College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to expand to 24 teams, sources tell @PeteThamel. The new format will start in 2027 and is expected to come together in the near future, pending final approvals.

Elegance. This is it.
Replying to @pegobry_en
There is a middle ground between hiding yourself and revealing every nook and cranny. It’s called elegance. But primarily, the modesty convo is less about modesty per se and more accepting responsibility for the kind of attention you’re intentionally provoking.

One of the best to ever do it.
You want the bad news first? The bad news is I have a 290 page novel about my time on the world's best card counting team. This is a story about two friends raised in Vegas who went from stealing chips in the cafeteria to stacking chips in High Limit. These are stories of locals who you've never heard of, counting cards in ways you don’t know, in parts of casinos that have no online reviews. Unfortunately, it would be easier to get the Palms to split aces five times than it is to convince these guys to work together and release this book. Say what you will about the world's best card counters, but their lawyers won't let you. But, the good news? The good news is you're still getting a book. A collection of short stories I've been writing in the early morning, before the crash of the work day. A few of these you've already read, but many you haven't including stories about a 1990s Canadian hockey fixer, my LA AA group, my experience fighting Topps over a five-figure baseball card, and certainly a few homages and shoutouts. “American Dynamism” Pre order available soon

This is incredible.
Of course that’s your contention. You’re a first-year #BV member. You just got finished readin’ some thread about Peter Millar’s superior collar construction and materials. You’re gonna be convinced of that ‘til next month when you discover H&B, then Arnie and cotton. And then you’re gonna be talkin’ about the logo rule and how no serious golfer would be caught dead wearing multiple logos to clubs he doesn’t belong. That’s gonna last until next year, when you’re gonna be in here regurgitating some thread about how microprint has no place on golf polos, and how a carry bag is the only acceptable way to transport 14 clubs. And next month you’re gonna be in here talkin’ about how FootJoy Premiers are the last true golf shoe and Traditions are for guys who don’t know any better. But the sad thing about a guy like you is that in 50 years you’re gonna start doin’ some thinkin’ on your own, and you’re gonna come up with the fact that there are two certainties in life. One, nobody cares what logo is on your quarter-zip. And two, you spent four thousand dollars on a golf wardrobe to shoot the same fuckin’ 87.

🚨INCREDIBLE: Tumwater High School girls track team stood on the podium at the Washington state championships in Tacoma wearing shirts that read “Keep Women’s Sports Female.” The moment came after a transgender athlete from East Valley High School in Spokane, Veronica Garcia, competed in multiple girls’ events and won a state title. Tumwater’s girls had beaten Garcia’s relay team in a prelim before finishing outside the top spots in the final. Tumwater’s school board had earlier passed a resolution seeking to limit girls’ events to biological females after the district faced a federal investigation over a game involving a transgender athlete. The shirts drew immediate attention, with some calling them a protest for fairness and others labeling them anti-trans. The girls wore the message on the medal stand. This is incredible bravery!👏🏾

Unmissable pod.
At the 1987 World Series of Poker Main Event, four of the top 11 finishers were regulars at a New York City gray market card club. That club - the Mayfair - was later the inspiration for some of the scenes in Rounders. The story of the Mayfair is about the players that relied on the Club to make a living, but it's also about how to get good at a gambling game, where valuable information is going to be scarce by definition.
