I use BSD instead of Linux because I think Torvalds is a jerk I use Lyft instead of Uber because I think Kalanick is a jerk And now I use Mastodon instead of Twitter because I think Musk is a jerk @litherum@masto.ai

I don’t understand how to sign up for Mastodon. I have to choose a server? What happens if the people running the server take it down? Is my account just gone? Why do I have to distinguish between “game developer litherum” vs “social litherum” vs “tech professional litherum”?

I guess I should pick @mastodon.social because that is the least opinionated name and probably the least chance of them just deciding to turn it off

Twitter was trash anyway. Can I have Twitter if you decide to throw it away?

Shower thought: when the news says things like “a 1 megaton bomb” … the bomb must not *actually* weigh a million tons, because there would be no way to lift it into the air

So, hang on, let me make sure I've got this right... There's an app that comes with Windows named "Media Player" And there's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT app that also comes with Windows named "Windows Media Player" And they are designed to serve the same purpose? Whaaaatttttt

Happy 2nd birthday, Playstation 5! ... Americans are still not able to just go and buy you

(For comparison, the length of time between when the PS4 (non-pro) was released and when the PS5 was released, was 7 years)

Whoever originally had the idea for the Series S must be feeling pretty smug right now

.@digitalfoundry has demonstrated to me over the years: simply running at 60fps is neither necessary nor sufficient for smooth motion in a game. Correct frame pacing is necessary. And high quality motion blur, with appropriate shutter speed, can go a long way at 30fps.
