Excited to share our recent work on „synpoptosis“ circuits for user-controlled, active induction of cell death in mammalian cells. Thanks to @ShiyuXia and the whole Elowitz lab!
Our new paper on “synpoptosis” circuits, led by the amazing @ShiyuXia, is now out: sciencedirect.com/science/ar… (1/3)
Check out this thread by @altaetran to learn more about our recent work published in @ScienceMagazine!
Our latest work exploring ultra rare CRISPR systems with new big data algorithms has been published by @ScienceMagazine! @zhangf @soumya_kannan12. This thread will unwrap how we found needles in a haystack of metagenomes. Let's dive in! (1/8) doi.org/10.1126/science.adi1…

Happy to share some of the work I contributed to as a visiting student in the lab of @zhangf at @MIT. Led by @altaetran and @soumya_kannan12, the study uncovers diverse, previously unknown CRISPR systems using FLSHclust, a new algorithm for fast and deep protein clustering.
Using a new algorithm called FLSHclust, researchers have revealed rare and previously unknown #CRISPR-Cas systems.
The approach and results provide novel opportunities for understanding the vast functional diversity of microbial proteins. scim.ag/4W6
Excited to share our work on #RecursiveEditing! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this project, particularly to Eric Aird and @jcornlab
Today in @natcomms we report #RecursiveEditing: a way to drive high levels of #CRISPR #HDR without manipulating the cellular factors or state. Project co-led by Masters' student Lukas Möller and postdoc Eric Aird. nature.com/articles/s41467-0… 🧵
