Andy Burnham is "open" to a slavery apology. Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807 and slavery in 1833, and spent a fortune with the Royal Navy stamping it out worldwide.
Nobody alive today owned a slave or was one under British rule.

The Chancellor has just delivered his latest Budget where he admits Britain is desperately short of money, and is struggling to find enough to finance our people, business and public services.
Despite having eye watering levels of debt, apparently Britain can still find ยฃ14billion to throw away to other countries in Foreign Aid.

First ever election in Scotland for Restore Britain yesterday, and the team did not let us down. Straight in at 7%, only 1.5% off beating Reform.
A remarkable result.
Three other results across England - beat the Tories in two, beat the Greens in two. Superb work.

Strong progress across England, but I'm particularly encouraged by the Scots.

Good evening. Reviewed the cameras from today's shift and noticed you were seated for most of it. This isn't acceptable and we'll need to discuss it before your shift tomorrow.

I had that cleared with my lead already. I've got two documented fractures in my left foot, doctor's note on file.
Also, for context, I hit 230+ units per hour for the full 12-hour shift. There's a ranked performance board above our stations. I finished first today.
So just to clarify, my output being the best on the floor got overshadowed because I wasn't standing while doing it?

I'm not a fan of this attitude. You could've just led with the part about it being cleared instead of being combative. This kind of response isn't going to serve you well here.

Appreciate you using my time off to bring up something you didn't bother checking on first.
230+ units an hour, by your own metric that's supposedly the gold standard, and I'm getting a talking-to because I was sitting while doing it. Might want to rethink what actually matters here. Also explains a lot about your turnover problem.
I'm not worried about "going anywhere" with this company. It's a toxic environment run by people with backwards priorities. I won't be in tomorrow. Or after that.

Does everybody remember the Bradford grooming gang case involving a 15-year-old girl who was subjected to an Islamic marriage ceremony with her abuser, while her own social worker attended?
Well, her abuser, Raja Zulqurnean, originally sentenced to 18 years on 14 May 2025, had his sentence increased to 23 years by the Court of Appeal on 5 September 2025, after it was deemed unduly lenient.
My question remains: Why was the social worker who attended this so-called marriage ceremony not in the dock as well? A vulnerable child in state care, being exploited in plain sight. Where was the safeguarding? Where was the accountability?
