Writing this week’s Insider Dispatch, I had a plethora of symbolism to use between #Moonshot2026 and the National Theatre… but I was limited by word count.

In designing Moonshot this year, we had new variables: a massive new venue, a cool new headline sponsor, a prophetic new theme, and 5k+ anticipated people (7k+ in reality). #Moonshot2026
While it came with its own challenges, some things just felt meant to be, like walking into the venue (Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts) during a recce and finding our logomark carved into wooden panels installed decades earlier. 🥹
Hi, I'm Osaz. I've co-led the Big Cabal Design team with @aderemi_adesida since 2023 from the very first Moonshot, and nurtured it into the distinct identity it now has. On the event days I'm also speaker coordinator making sure our speakers get to where they need to be easily and on schedule.

There's so much more that happened and #Moonshot2026 took a village. Note that it’s the same in-house team which had just delivered HERtitude, NairaLife, Power Brunch, Citizen Townhall, Zikoko State of Income and our regular publication work.
So it was critical that we leaned into systems that made asset creation faster, freeing us to pour more energy into the non-routine, creative stuff. @aderemi_adesida can speak a lot more to the systems we built for screen and speaker assets.

Even though I’m now more ingrained in Product Design, my first love was Brand Design.
Being able to express the strategy and vision of a brand in a distinct way has always been an exciting challenge. And I’m still using many of those skills in my day-to-day work as a Design Systems Product Designer — from layout and typography to iconography and micro-interactions.
I don’t think these skills are meant to be kept behind one or two case studies. I see them as part of my life’s work, whether it’s an exploration, something that never shipped, or an approved and shipped design.
That’s why I went with a gallery-themed website this time. Rather than keeping my work behind a handful of polished case studies, I wanted somewhere I could treat my work as a body of work — explorations, shipped work, experiments, little details and everything in between. A space that can serve as inspiration for me, and hopefully for others too.
