🇺🇸 Ron DeSantis doesn't think voters suddenly "fell in love" with Democrats; they hated the GOP more: “Democrats aren't popular. This was not a positive view of the Democrats. This was a REJECTION of Republicans in Washington.” That's a pretty important distinction if Republicans are trying to figure out what went wrong... And correct course in time for 2028. Writer: Lynn

The first party after today that governs this country quietly, calmly, and with minimal interventions upending daily life will win a generational majority. The Democrats got that chance in 2020 and failed, giving us Woke 1.0 and the rise of antisemitism on campus and in culture. The Republicans got the chance in 2024 and failed, giving us tariffs, trade wars, battles with Canada and Denmark (giving Canada Mark Carney), ballrooms, arches, and corrupt familial crypto schemes. And so the worm has turned again. The first party after today to govern this country like Calvin Coolidge will win durable majorities and marginalize the other party. The next president will need to deal, finally, with the impending bankruptcy of Social Security and Medicare and the national debt. For the Republican Party, perhaps that would be the place to start.

Yep. The electorate is not hostile to conservative policies. The electorate is hostile to the ongoing circus of misprioritized and economically destructive chaos.
There is a very interesting mismatch between the elections for *candidates*, which effectively yielded a massive and historic sweep for the Democrats, and the *ballot initiatives*, almost all all of which yielded conservative outcomes, even in the deep blue states (but not VA).

Ron DeSantis is the only Republican who delivered tonight. There was a blue tsunami across the country except for the state he spent 8 years turning ruby red. Objectively the most effective Republican in elected office. Consistent winner for 8 years straight.

Governor DeSantis BLASTS Kristi Noem for bungling mass deportations and turning it into a shit show for her own glory. DeSantis BLASTS Congressmen like Byron Donalds for making millions on the stock market. DeSantis BLASTS Alina Habba for getting a $10 million government contract and securing a presidential pardon for her boyfriend. “If the people in office don't display some civic virtue about public service as a sacrifice. It's not to use the public office for private gain. I declined the pension in Congress. I declined the health care. I didn't trade the stocks. And I believe in congressional term limits. I mean, imagine if you went to the American people and actually tried to get that done. That's not right or left. That's something that a lot of people realize.. These guys work for themselves. They should be working for you.”

Not a David French fan, but even stopped clocks are right twice a day.
This is a very interesting preview of the post-election argument. DeSantis takes on the Trump admin in perhaps the most effective way for Republican voters -- the admin was incompetent and corrupt. They failed you. I expect people will be willing to hear that message quite soon. We'll see.

Last night’s results are a culmination of conservatives deciding that character does not matter when it seems to be a hurdle to taking short-term power, and then trying to claim that character *does* matter, when it seems convenient. Maybe the best thing for conservatism would be a successful impeachment.

If you know Econ you know tariffs were the biggest unforced error of the Trump presidency, and the root cause of what is going down tonight. Just look at the numbers; sure people don’t like higher gas prices but they’re not the main reason food costs more and they’re not much higher than they were during Biden. Plus they’re recent; the tariffs began nearly day 1 of the Trump Admin and at a time when he was put in office by working class people who rebelled against the high prices they paid for everything during Biden. With tariffs Trump took those prices higher with a regressive tax on working people who don’t have the means to speculate around them in stocks. On top of that, tariffs never stoked the manufacturing boom that was promised. It’s so obvious but for MAGA to admit tariffs were wrong would be like arguing the 2020 election wasn’t stolen

BREAKING: Thousands of Islamists gathered tonight in Hamburg to demand the introduction of Sharia law in Germany 🇩🇪. Europe as we once knew it is history and now they are coming for the big prize America. I’m afraid your kids and grandkids will be living in hell because you were too afraid to take a stand when it mattered, when you could have stopped it. And if you don’t think it can happen here, you’re wrong. It’s already happening.

I see the "blame everyone except the guy in charge who voters overwhelmingly say they're pissed at" is underway. The wildly unpopular president? Heck no. The Senator from South Dakota who most voters couldn't pick out of a line up? Must be it.

DSA candidate Tim Denson tries to sell the crowd on “democratizing the workplace” and says Walmart should belong to the workers. Big mistake. The guy 6 ft away from him grew up in Venezuela. And he’s heard this communist fairy tale before. DANIEL DI MARTINO: “So you want to take it [Walmart] from its owners and have the workers do what?” TIM DENSON: “I want the workers to own it and get paid better and have better benefits and be able to provide better lives for their families.” DI MARTINO: “We can buy shares in Walmart right now. In fact, all of the SpaceX workers became millionaires overnight.” “You can start a workers’ cooperative right now. It’s legal, but under a socialist country, you’re not allowed to own your own property and start your own private corporation.” Denson tried to refute Di Martino’s point. Then Di Martino dropped this line on him: DI MARTINO: “It’s very easy to be a socialist in a capitalist country. It’s illegal to be a capitalist in a socialist country. That is the difference.” [audience applause] Then it got personal: DI MARTINO: “When I had to go to the grocery store, Tim, I had to put my fingerprint in a scanning machine so that they would tell me what I was allowed to purchase.” “And I could only go Mondays and Saturdays because we have to ration food, because that’s what happens when there’s no profit motive and the farmers, their food is confiscated because they had to sell it to the government and everybody else at the price the government tells the farmers.” “My mom made chocolate bonbons for parties.” “Well, people have a right to chocolate, so we had a price control on chocolate.” “So my mom had to buy counterfeit chocolate, put it in black bags as if we were cocaine drug dealers. That’s what socialism was in Venezuela. That’s what worker ownership of the means of production is.” “Where has it ever worked?” Denson had no answer. Because there isn’t one.

Not all heroes wear capes, but this one was dressed as a piece of fruit! Stephanie Oropeza was wearing a banana suit and heading home from a Halloween party in Orlando Florida. At 4 a.m. an SUV swerved off the road, smashing into a restaurant. Restaurant security cameras showed the human banana calling police and then flagging down officers as they rushed to the scene.

Democrats are electing multiple Islamist terror allies to Congress while driving out Jews who oppose it. Just a reminder of where we are.
A one-time acolyte to the Sheikh Abdul-Rahman, a traveler among jihadis, Democrat Adam Hamawy is about to get elected to Congress. Was he merely curious and hapless? Did he harbor jihadi beliefs now renounced? He provides little to no real explanation: theatlantic.com/politics/202…

Ten million people have watched a comedian accidentally destroy the entire TED talk industry. He filmed the talk once at TEDxNewYork in 2014 and openly admitted he had nothing to say. Speaking coaches charge $5,000 to teach the exact tricks he used in 6 minutes to say nothing at all. His name is Will Stephen. He is a comedian from Late Night with Seth Meyers who was invited to give a real TED talk and used it to prove the format is a costume anyone can wear. Every TED speaker opens with a question, tells a personal story, cites a scientist, and shows a chart. Stephen did all four in six minutes with zero content. His entire formula fits on a napkin. Gesture with both hands. Ask the audience a question anyone can answer. Tell a mildly embarrassing story so they say aww. Point to a stranger on a slide and call them important. Flash a chart of random numbers. Wear glasses with no lenses. The audience will think you are brilliant. That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped. "If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius." That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying. Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority. The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years. Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since. The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.

Ram Chhetri came to the US as a refugee, but this might be worst day of his life: It's the moment he realizes the $80k-$160k/year salary he's bilked from Medicaid for no-show work is coming to an end because @realdailywire caught the truth on camera. We conducted months of surveillance that shows why "home care aide" is now the *most common job* in states like NY, CA, MN, and PA: Because a large part of those jobs are unambiguous Medicaid fraud. Thanks to home care, Bhutanese refugees now make more money than actual PA families. The state doesn't just look the other way, but helps them get away with it. Converting federal health dollars into a universal basic income for certain communities relieves the financial burden they place on the state. The scammers easily deceive the feds' woefully broken monitoring system. You'll see Ram pull into a driveway for 2 minutes in the morning, then 2 minutes in the evening. He clocks in and out of his shift from the right place, and the GPS system doesn't notice that he goes home in between. $20 an hour doesn't sound like much, but at 77 hours a week, it's $80k–and it's easy to bill huge hours when you don't actually have to work them. And that's just for the low-level guys in this scheme.
