Hard to overstate how big a failure DOGE was. The government slashed its workforce without meaningfully shrinking the government’s overall footprint. So taxpayers got a less capable bureaucracy while spending billions paying people not to work. It was mostly performance art.
The cost of DOGE: The Trump administration paid federal employees $9.5 billion not to work during 2025, GAO finds nytimes.com/2026/09/15/us/po…
I deeply love working with UN agencies like WHO, WFP and UNICEF, meeting inspiring people having dedicated their lives to the greater good. The multicultural environment is magical: these are places where you realize how much we humans share before our cultures differentiate us.
It sometimes feels like encountering a real-life Star Trek Federation.
These institutions aren't perfect in their execution, but their founding principles and goals like the SDGs make them a beacon of hope in a world full of sowers of dissension.

Fragmented health facility data hinders public health resource allocation!
🇨🇩 In the #DRC, @USAID's Integrated Health Program & @MinSanteDRC tackled this with #IASO, @blsqhub's geospatial data platform.
📊 Key results so far:
➡️ GPS coverage: 35% → 73%
➡️ 1,800+ community health sites mapped
➡️ Resource gaps identified for better planning

The world is on the brink of eliminating #polio and preventing new outbreaks with new vaccines!
Learn more from @salonium👉ourworldindata.org/new-polio…
Until recently, hundreds of thousands of children were paralyzed by polio every year.
Today, our generation has the chance to eradicate this disease once and for all.
@salonium shows how we can achieve this incredible goal: ourworldindata.org/new-polio…
I love the work we do at @blsqhub on geographical data both as a geek and for the impact it has on public health systems.
