The fans on the 3 Pro had a very typical problem. If the unit was bumped or crushed during shipping, external force could easily travel through the structure to the bearing and deform it. Once the bearing deformed, the fan would start making noise. What made it worse was that the wiring for all four fans was soldered together—so if even one fan failed, we couldn’t replace just that one; we had to replace the entire four-fan assembly. That was obviously a bad deal for users; for us, it was also a lesson left by the design.
So when designing the 5 Pro, we decided to start by getting repair-ability right: we made the fans easy to replace. The fans are attached to the top cover with screws. If a fan has a problem, you can replace it by simply removing and reinstalling a few screws. This way, even after the warranty expires, users can easily buy two fans for a very low price—$15–20 including shipping—to replace the damaged fan. You don’t have to replace a whole assembly because of one small fan.
The other change was the tube that holds the bearing. We no longer use plastic; we use a CNC-machined copper tube. The copper tube has more precise dimensions and can withstand compression, so external force can hardly damage the bearing anymore.
These two changes aren’t big, but they determine whether the machine can last and whether it’s affordable to repair. So our expectation for the 5 Pro is: extremely long life. It’s not easy to break, and if it does break, it’s easy to repair, and spare parts will be available long-term.

The clerk explained that the city sold the local water treatment facility and underground main grid to an infrastructure equity fund last year to cover municipal budget deficits.
When my uncle asked why that tripled his rate, she told him:

Nothing about the pipes, pressure, or water quality improved.
Private equity isn't just buying houses and daycares anymore.

US live-streaming the firing squad execution of a paraplegic in a wheelchair. The public calling CPS on celeb parents with disabled babies & demanding their removal. US states bringing back forced institutionalization in private equity-owned institutions. US removes disability protections & cuts off disability services, as we’re systematically disabled by unmitigated pandemics & no one can afford healthcare. US/Canada euthanizing the disabled, poor, & mentally ill. Netherlands just euthanized a baby. Very obvious increases in ableist content, beliefs & behaviors, after we learned cognitive disabilities in the US have increased by over 40% since 2019 & the RECORD disability we’ve ignored since 2020 continues to increase. There is no funding & no help for the rapidly increasing disabled population, which is YOUNG & GROWING YOUNGER, only institutionalization to enrich private equity & certain premature death.
Human life has been fully devalued. Bad things are upon us & even worse things are coming. All together now: This is a Business Model. In the end, they’re going to kill us.
