Very sad to learn that the "Last Dambuster", Sqn Ldr Johnny Johnson, has died aged 101.
His WW2 generation sacrificed so much, yet asked nothing in return.
I was privileged to share many a bottle of his much-loved red wine.
The nation has lost a true hero.

I’m at Auschwitz-Birkenau today, marking 75 years since the liberation of the death camp.

Devastated to hear that Battle Of Britain Spitfire pilot Geoffrey Wellum has died. He was a totally lovely gent & an unassuming hero with whom I was privileged to share many glasses of wine. Churchill's "Few" are even fewer.
