Our company paid a consultant $12,000 to find out why so many people were quitting.
He interviewed managers for three weeks. He wore very nice shoes.
Meanwhile, our intern stuck a yellow sticky note on the kitchen fridge.
It said: "People quit because: 1. No raises. 2. Too many meetings. 3. Nobody says thank you."
It stayed there for a month. Everyone read it. Someone drew a heart on it.
Then the consultant presented his report to the CEO. 80 pages.
I was in the room, setting up the projector.
He clicked to the final slide: "Key findings."
The CEO read it. Then she stood up and walked out of the room without a word.
She came back two minutes later holding the sticky note...

-route 2 in connecticut shut down at night
-cops turning everyone around to exit the wrong way
-driver: "there's no way it takes a u-turn on a highway"
-fsd watches the cars ahead.. and does it anyway
hands off. gps is lost. car still figures it out

So an easy way to tell if you should be scared about a commercial-looking plane flying low over DC is to check whether it's a 747. 747s are too big to land at DCA, so if you see one, it's either AF1, or severely and dramatically off-course from its filed flight plan. And in the second case, you wouldn't have seen it because an AMRAAM would have got to it first
