Why would you call something Mitch McConnell did the Schumer rule πŸ˜‚. The unwillingness to grapple with the way two court seats were handled by McConnell by anyone on the right is going to lead to total SCOTUS calvinball for the foreseeable future. Cake was baked in 2020.
It is quite possible that the new rule β€” the Schumer Rule? β€” will be that if one party has the majority, it will _never_ hold a hearing on a Supreme Court nominee from a president of the other party, no matter how much time remains until the next election. Democrats talk a lot about expanding the Supreme Court, but if, God forbid, there’s an unexpected vacancy in the next two years, they may well end up shrinking it temporarily.

The national security advisor that has overseen one failed war of choice and the kidnapping/indefinite detention of legal US residents is now a coyote for foreign autocrats. Quite the resume.
As I reported hours ago, FlΓ‘vio Bolsonaro has arrived safely in United States. The mastermind behind this operation is U.S. Secretary of State @SecRubio . From the United States, free and safe, FlΓ‘vio will lead the opposition against Lula.

CBS deleted this post and reposted it admitting that their original one was misleading. And the misleading post from CBS was intentionally misleading, not an innocent mistake. CBS continues to lose credibility.

Exactly what we need in the absence of a functioning U.S. Department of Justice. An organization of ex-prosecutors and investigators who help can put cases together for current and future prosecutors who will restore accountability for corrupt federal officials and those who benefit from that corruption.
We are facing a crisis of impunity. That's why we built The Rule of Law Project β€” to investigate unlawful conduct by federal officials, and work with state and local prosecutors to hold them to account. Watch former DOJ prosecutor Mark Blumberg and human rights leader Brad Adams launch this critical accountability initiative on MSNOW with Nicolle Wallace.

Not a big name, but Coleen Gray was a good actress and one of the most beautiful stars of the 1940s.

One of my husband's aunts is a retired professor of comparative literature with a doctorate from the Sorbonne. This is her most famous book in the Arabic-speaking world (about 400 million people). This f-ing guy can't even buy a suit that fits. jarirbooksusa.com/products/m…
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Novel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

One β€œNew Hollywood” film, directed by Michael Ritchie, that deserves more attention.
Gene Hackman and Robert Redford in "Downhill Racer," directed by Michael Ritchie and written by James Salter, 1969. Roger Ebert gave the film four out of four stars, calling it "the best movie ever made about sportsβ€”without really being about sports at all."

He rarely played them (Halsy Knox), but Redford was good at playing arrogant bastards.

Much easier for the media to lock in on faux Cheesecake Factory outrage than a House Dem report indicating Todd Blanche basically told Ghislaine Maxwell "stop talking" when she was about to discuss a girl that could more closely tie Trump to Epstein

It was a really interesting year for nominees. I agree on Lawrence. I’m not really a Hunger Games person, but in terms of her body of work, she is one of the really greats of her generation of actors.
