Thanks for sharing.
I had a few tears watching this. I used to be an addict. Nearly took my life. This should be mandatory watching in every school.

The reason I am doing what I am doing now is because of *this* sermon. It might be the most impactful 2 minutes of preaching I've ever seen — and it changed my entire life.

People often ask me why I advocate so strongly for independent physician practice. I am an employed doctor, after all. Well, this is why👇 Employed docs are just widget makers. Produce RVU, click the boxes, follow the protocols. They’ll replace us as soon as they can get away with it. A thriving independent physician sector keep us all safer.

I hear the mountain biking there is spectacular.
The first healthcare store we built was amazon. The second healthcare store we built was @GeneralMedicine. So it only felt appropriate that the third would be @Walmart. Announcing Walmart Better Care Services, a healthcare store powered by General Medicine.
The story behind it, from @elliotcohen, below.

So true. And what two stakeholders have that complete picture? The insurer and the employer via claims. All others have incomplete snapshots. The analog version is just as important; the patient’s history.
I tell my clinicians this all the time: A piece of data is a snapshot. I need to see the movie. Where did the patient start? What's changed? How quickly? What happened after treatment? Are they actually getting better? One laboratory result tells me something. The trajectory tells me much more. That's why longitudinal care and follow-up matter.

My Sister’s FIL had to wait for over two years for an Aortic valve replacement in Canada. He was on supplemental oxygen until that time.
16 month wait for a CT scan in the UK. A $400 test… Does it still count as “free” if you have to wait over a year for the test?

Well done Sir. May God bless you, Susan, and your family.
The biggest stories don’t always make the news. 🤔 Susan and I gave $6.25 billion to help 25 million American children build brighter futures. These handwritten thank-you notes mean more than any headline ever could. 25 million children. 25 million futures. Endless possibilities. ❤️🇺🇸

San Francisco isn't perfect. We still have a ton of overdose deaths and it's hamstrung by criminal justice reforms and activist judges. But to suggest the city isn't doing better than it was a few years ago is just wrong. I compiled this summary. Check it out. Recovery First!

A fascinating UCSF study on psilocybin for Parkinson's. The potential for psychedelics to reduce mitochondrial stress and inflammation is one of the most exciting areas of emerging research in our field. If you want to dig deeper into the science, check out the work of Dr. Chuck Nichols at LSU. IMHO, we should be adding these biomarkers to human psychedelic studies, as the implications are just massive. If you're a researcher in the field. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the most relevant, cost-effective measures we could be adding to new studies. cc. @MitoPsychoBio @EllenBradleyMD
Another win for psilocybin In 9 Parkinson's patients... GDF15 fell > 17.4% after 10 mg > 13.9% after 25 mg High GDF15 signals mitochondrial failure and neurodegeneration. Inflammation also declined: > IL-6: −17% > IL-8: −20% > hsCRP: −9.6% > IL-10: +2.7% (anti-inflammatory)

A husband and wife with four kids will spend $3-4,000 and more per month on medical insurance now, and it buys nothing but the right to pay more when you actually use it. This is an outrage. More outrageous, there is hardly any political talk about this fixing this problem even though the fix is readily at hand. Unsustainable.

Surprised @TheLancet published such unscientific polemic. This on the heels of the new ER-100 results reminds me of when @NYT predicted powered flight could take a million yrs, just 69 days before the Wright brothers flew. “Several renowned experts told me” is what people write when they lack evidence. Expect more articles from the establishment as we make progress. People often fear what they don’t understand. ICYMI: “There are two delusions driving the world of longevity: the first is that ageing in humans is as malleable, or plastic, as it is in roundworms, fruit flies, and mice. The human body, the product of millions of years of evolution, is not, as our tech overlords believe, a programmable dataset. Several renowned biogerontologists told me that a significant biotech mediated expansion of human lifespan is unlikely in the foreseeable future: the longevity industry is a goldrush without gold. The second delusion is that longevity is primarily a scientific, or medical, concern. It is not.” 🙈
"The longevity industry exists to exploit humanity, not to save it." - Seamus O'Mahony writes @TheLancet Or, as he puts it, "the longevity industry is a goldrush without gold." Talk about throwing out the baby with the bathwater! Of course, the field is drowning in hype and commercial interests pushing unproven interventions. But that doesn't detract from the fact that slowing human aging - even if slightly - would have enormous health and medical benefits. Manipulating human aging may prove harder than many in the field currently promise. But aging is no doubt malleable, so let's not lose sight of the field's long-term transformative potential. The challenge is to tell hype from science, not to dismiss the science because of the hype.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. We have lost 21X more veterans to suicide than on the battlefield since 9/11. Nearly 20 die by suicide every day. Behind every statistic is a family whose lives are forever changed by tragedy. Veterans deserve access to treatments that actually work. We must do better. We have two compounds on the FDA finish line whose effectiveness far exceeds standard treatments. It’s go time.

This is a great explanation of what Jesus said the Holy Spirit will do for us.
When you study the Bible and become familiar with what is written, the Holy Spirit can begin to plug those verses, passages and concepts into your mind, in real time, while you’re handling life situations, and if you listen, this is how you are molded to the character of Christ

Happens all the time. It’s deceptive.
Let me start with screw the @washingtonpost they are crap journalists. These are hospital-owned clinics. The hospital controls the billing and collects the facility fee. Yet the Washington Post puts “doctors’ offices” in the headline, leaving readers with the impression that their physician is behind the markup. Misleading BS Patients deserve to know who sets these charges and who collects the money. If the hospital is charging the fee, put the hospital in the headline. Physicians shouldn’t have to answer for a billing policy their employer controls. washingtonpost.com/business/…

I don’t suggest “must follows” much but Eric Starkman is a definite must. He’s a vet journalist and media adviser I’ve known for years and he writes an amazing blog “Starkman Approved,” dedicated to bringing truth to power. His stuff on the automotive industry is first rate and he’s was the first to call out the missteps of @mtbarra. He’s new to X so check his stuff out
Mary Barra has managed the unthinkable in politically polarized America: Critics on both ends of the political spectrum are increasingly incensed about the GM CEO’s stratospheric paydays and aggressive stock buybacks. starkmanonoverdrive.substack… #automotive

Hero.
Bend, Oregon man who shot and killed a shooter at his daughters' school speaks out, praises female teacher for fighting the shooter, allowing him to have a clear shot. Kaylub Giamanco says he is haunted by the sound of children pleading for their lives. He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter. "I want to recognize [the teacher]. She gave me the opportunity to make my shot without losing my life..." "I swung the door open, and I stepped in, and I fired, and they dropped to the ground... I looked down at the gunman, and he was scrambling for his weapon. And I looked at him, and I shot him 2 more times..."

It wasn't harm reduction that reduced OD deaths. It was that the vulnerable died, then China finally cracked down on precursor chemicals and then Trump shut the border down. We were gaslit to believe harm reduction was the great savior. It isn't. @ONDCP @SaraCarterDC

Replying to @molsjames
Patients are discriminated against if they indicate they are choosing integrative therapies They get a label. There's an attitude. We need to change that. Patients get to choose their own care.
