Fun fact: I trained both models on an H-100 NVL, and it cost me $50 total on RunPod. It was overkill for the CNN, but man, was it blazing fast. 3.9 TB/s fast

I tried very poor quality scanned image and Vision LLM did great job than me in those cases.
Fundamentally It reads the document as if a person reads it.
It uses the whole vocabulary to guess that word depends on context which beats human reviewers in some cases.
What OCR or other solutions beat is the cost and Speed.

వీటిని ఆర్కైవ్ వారు OCR చేసి unicode text గా కూడా ఇస్తున్నారు. వారి శ్రమకు 🙏 అయితే అందులో చాలా తప్పులు ఉంటున్నాయి.
Ascii నుండి Unicode లోకి ఒక చిన్న మేపింగ్ తో ఇట్టే మార్చేయవచ్చు అయితే ఇది చాలా శ్రమతో కుడినది. ఇదివరలో కొంత మంది ఈ mapping చేసారు. అవి పనికి రావడం లేదు. మరెవరవరైనా ఈ ప్రయత్నం చేశారో లేదో తెలియలేదు.
నేను 2018 లో ఓ ప్రాజెక్టు మొదలుపెట్టి ఆపేసాను.

ఈ mapping అంతా Claude తయారు చేసింది. దానికి అనుమానం వచ్ఛినప్పుడల్లా నన్ను అడిగింది.
దీనికి ఓ 4000 లైన్ల కోడు రాయించాను.
ఇది తిరిగి వాడుకోవచ్చా? ఖచ్చితంగా. మరో కొత్త mapping ఉంటే మరో mapping చేయాలి.
