A lot of inner work content tells you β€œhere is what great people do, you should do this” and then the reader takes it to mean β€œcoerce yourself into this shape” which Does Not Work. Ideals like go fast, accept all sensations, love all your emotions are great and admirable and you should work towards creating the conditions where they naturally arise but if you are not immediately able to follow this advice tensing harder will not make it suddenly work for you. It’s like putting a baby on stilts because tall people make more money. You have to create the conditions where this behavior naturally arises but that is a developmental process which can take weeks, months, years, etcetera.

hey #TPOT what do we think of surrogacy? never thought much about it but taking babies away from their mother seems prima facie bad. probs something to avoid? what are the pros and cons?
This Commissioning Father mocks a newborn as he roots to latch and breastfeed. We think this is supposed to be funny? We’re not laughing.

men (boys) are encouraged to dissociate go into their head, put their nose down to the grindstone and provide, think don’t feel this creates men who are insensitive to feelings, not just in themselves but others 1/

β€˜embodiment’ is 1) being able to get information from your body via sensations (emotional and physical) and 2) capacity to interact with the environment using these sense perceptions live (vs theorising, using existing knowledge, or thinking only abstractly/explicitly) 4/

emotions are physical. emotions are physically felt in the body they are not (mostly) felt in the brain. (they can seem like they are only in the brain, but this is simply lack of sensory perception skill plus interpretation/imagination overriding the senses) 5/

Bill is one of the greats. I did a couple workshops with him and he can do absolutely wild stuff I’ve never seen anywhere else. he can tell with deep precision where and how you’re dissociating from your body he’s also kind and gentle in a lovely way

the training changed me from feeling awkward and socially anxious, to feeling myself in every situation deep sense of comfort and feeling at home in my body no longer jumpy, clumsy, lowkey hyper-vigilant, deferring came out grounded, present, and.. well, happy
