Honored to receive the 2026 Wiesenthal Award of Valor in Toronto. I dedicate it to my hero, @mozhgankshavarz, who was arrested, beaten, sexually assaulted, and subjected to mock execution for sending me videos of herself protesting against compulsory hijab. This photo is a middle finger to the torturers of the Islamic Republic. Last night, I stood beside her in front of more than 1,700 people. She received flowers instead of blows. Applause instead of threats. To her torturers: Look at her now. You wanted to make her an example of what happens to women who resist. Instead, she became a symbol of courage, and you became symbols of cruelty and cowardice. I will proudly share every international stage I have with women like Mozhgan. Dictators fear women standing together. That’s why we must never let go of each other’s hands. Woman. Life. Freedom. ✌️❤️

🚨 Interest rates are up. That means higher mortgage costs for families. Labour’s refusal to drill for our own oil and gas and the Jobs Tax have fuelled inflation. Their tax-and-spend addiction must end. We’ve got to get a grip.

West Antarctica sits on top of a volcanic rift. Thwaites and Pine Island, Antarctica's two fastest thinning glaciers, sit directly above strong geothermal anomalies. The glaciers are being melted from below, not above, and atmospheric data backs this up. A recent study shows central west Antarctica has cooled around 1C per decade over the past 20 years. The surface is cooling, the base is heating, and melt is concentrated where the crust is hottest. Public messaging insists CO2 is melting Antarctica. But the air is cooling, with the only real melt restricted to the west, to regions sitting atop a hot volcanic rift.

I can’t stand smoky bacon flavour crisp…. … but I will always stand for British laws for British people via a sovereign and democratic British government And the contemptuous, arrogance of Angela Eagle to say you need to “get a life” if you are concerned about handing control of our laws to unelected bureaucrats abroad, sums up the rejoiners’ scorn and disdain for British voters.
Smokey bacon crisps matter, @angelaeagle, because your government is signing away control of our food laws to the EU. We will have no say, no influence and no veto over the rules they set - as the question by @StigAbell demonstrates.

Meet Mahmoud Hmoud. He was just elected to the International Court of Justice. He will sit on South Africa’s bogus “genocide” case against Israel. Hmoud used to be Jordan’s UN ambassador. Only three weeks after the October 7 massacre, he called “to punish Israel for war crimes.”

Our North Sea energy assets are vulnerable to hostile states. We must protect them. @HarrietCross_MP, @jcartlidgemp and I have written to Labour ministers calling for these assets to be designated as critical national infrastructure. 🇬🇧 scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/n…

Read the EU's publication and DEFRA's guidance notes for businesses. The EU has changed a miriad of things since we left including permitted food colouring, the type of plastics that can be used in food contact materials such as greeseproof paper and takeaway food containers, as well as product names: marmalade will now have to be labeled "citrus jam" while other jam must be labeled "marmalade".

Massive demand forecast errors this morning. Luckily in a favourable direction but really, errors larger than the SQSS reserve held are a worry There was a 600 MW error on wind as well.

Thought for the day... 🤔 Imagine how Canada would respond if asked to fund development projects in Mississippi in return for the right to trade more energy with the US. But something similar is expected as part of the UK-EU 'reset'... 🤷‍♂️

Labour has created a Britain where work doesn’t pay. Yesterday, during the post PMQs media round, I found myself with my opposite number Bridget Phillipson debating youth unemployment and an out of control welfare budget. It was clear that Bridget simply doesn’t understand it is Labour’s choices that have created this crisis of over 1 million young people not in employment, education or training. Failure to act on working age benefits so there is no incentive for young people to work or take on an apprenticeship. Taxing businesses so much they can’t afford to hire young people. We need to make work pay again in Britain.

Wind forecast for next couple of days is looking very weak. Well below NESO's derated capacity for wind. The 33GW of installed capacity might struggle to deliver even 1GW.

This chart shows how tight the market is over the next 4 days. When the blue line is higher than the shaded area imports are required to meet demand ie there's not enough domestic generation and we have to get imports rather than imports being used for cost reasons This is the first real test of the winter (chart is the residual load chart from Amira Technologies)

A charity that's supposed to protect London's bridges has handed out £1.1 million to a group with alleged links to Hamas. It's completely nuts. Basic infrastructure in our country is literally crumbling, and this is what they're focused on?

There's a global energy crisis and Burnham/Fahnbulleh want to make it illegal to drill for offshore oil and gas, illegal to frack onshore and illegal to mine coal. And they call it 'Energy Independence'. Completely insane levels of reckless endangerment of the British economy.
This is an act of economic vandalism.

Name one country that is following our "leadership" and banning new drilling for its own oil and gas? We'll wait...
Britain’s international climate leadership is backed by strong action at home. The Energy Independence Bill is vital to that effort. Delivering warmer homes, lower bills and energy security through clean power we control, and legislating for no new oil and gas licences. This is what leadership on climate and the clean energy transition looks like. gov.uk/government/news/energ…

Yesterday I set out why it’s important to protect the integrity of women’s sport from grassroots to elite level. I told Angela Carini’s story from the Paris Olympics who was cheated out of her rightful place. I never want that to happen again and certainly not on British soil. But the Government chose to vote down our common-sense amendments. And the Lib Dems abstained like they always do. Utterly shameful.
