I posted this before, but you need to sent your MEPs a message and start fighting chat control fightchatcontrol.eu! Absolutely bonkers that Germany is still undecided…
The EU’s “Regulation to Prevent and Combat Child Sexual Abuse”, better known as Chat Control, is nothing less than mass surveillance. Mandatory chat scanning, client-side surveillance, and end-to-end encryption broken by law. Revived under the Danish EU presidency, with a Council vote in Oct. Lots of states/representatives are still undecided. I’m so disappointed in Europe. We should be a safe harbour for people’s data. And the audacity to think government-mandated backdoors can be kept secure. False positives mean officials reviewing your private photos. Imagine your kids’ beach pics flagged as “suspicious.” This is just a slide back to Stasi times. And believe it or not, Germany is one of the undecided. 🔎 Source: brusselssignal.eu/2025/08/eu… 🛑 Act: fightchatcontrol.eu #ChatControl

Getting our story graph for talesmith.world right isn't easy. This is the 3rd iteration. Putting play sessions and story scenes in the graph sounded logical first, but falls short on complex stories. And while reactflow is insane - it's a constant fight with the layout algorithm. It works but i'm not super happy with it - we can do it better - and we will once we have officially launched. #buildinpublic

We’re fighting symptoms, not root causes. Child abuse is disgusting and must be fought. Chat Control is not the way. Even with 99% accuracy, billions of messages would still be flagged for human review. Realistically the hit rate is much lower, meaning even more false positives. I have not found a good cost estimation yet. But I bet, the amount of money this costs could be spent more effectively into underfunded prevention programs. @dhh @levelsio excuse the tag. Is this on your radar? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Funny how my AirPods Pro 2 behave better after suspend on Linux than on macOS. #omarchy

I thought i miss the "sleep on lid close" of mac. #omarchy is so fast on startup that it's a non-issue for me.

Two days ago I ordered an @FrameworkPuter 13 with the AI 9 HX 370. I added 128GB RAM and a 1TB SSD from elsewhere. They shipped it out yesterday. The option to bring my own memory, and telling me which sticks are tested, still blows my mind. Thats a business model I like to support and return to. In fact I did. I just ordered the FW 12 in sage.

Two years ago I started building my own products. I tried Next.js. It worked, most of the time, but I didn’t enjoy it. Over the last decade I’ve written code in a dozen languages and frameworks. I was still looking for one that felt right. Go came close. JavaScript too. Last year I gave Laravel a shot. The syntax wasn’t for me. The famous IntelliJ integration didn’t help either. I live in the terminal. Then I remembered the older sibling. Ruby on Rails. From the first line of code to the first migration to the first email sent to the first deployment, it felt like home. Rails brings everything you need, but lets you swap things out without pain. Don’t like ERB and prefer React? Use vite_ruby. What @dhh built with Rails, and what Matz built with Ruby, finally scratched that itch. And it works beautifully in Neovim. I’ve used Linux before but spent the last nine years on a Mac. Now it feels like DHH might have done it again. Omarchy might be the next home. @FrameworkPuter is already on the way. Thanks, DHH, for the love letters we’re invited to enjoy too.

Had a 72 performance score on talesmith.world due to unoptimized images, so I let @charmcli's crush (+ sonnet-4) fix some image loading for me and couple min later... Still some things to do on mobile, but that is already at 93 so not the highest prio now.

Building the campaign assistant for Talesmith was a fun challenge. Had a bunch of false hits due to empty content in nodes. This can happen a lot because players create stuff and then not add any description besides the title. So we de-ranked those hits specifically. Rails and RubyLLM is just such a joy to work with!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a co-living+co-working spot in europe? I'd like to stay near the ocean and ideally close to a bigger city for day trips. Also a desk with a monitor would be great. #workation #buildinpublic

Yesterday I build the starter adventure "Sablewood Messengers" from #daggerheart in talesmith.world Took me only ~1,5 hours including generating assets. Here is a 4 minute timelapse (Spoiler Alert!)

Its really a great starter adventure to get into #Daggerheart and the story isn't too difficult to narrate. I'll share some impressions of the preparation here 🧵 - Spoiler Alert! 🚨
