Starmer wrong not to back Bibi-led Trump’s attack on Iran ? Now you’re teasing me, Steve ! Unkind to tease an old gent . Of course he was right to avoid a costly disastrous war he can’t get out of. “ Regime change can’t be done from the air,” said KS. Dead right!
Well. Done, Alberta, a 3-1 majority over short sighted greed and stupidity ( hey, look at a map). But also a sobering reminder that 25% can vote for folly if grievances are skilfully orchestrated theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Trump and Putin are risable idiots.
They both started an unprovoked illegal war, and neither can extricate himself from their gross error.
That’s more like it, though it’s not our blood being spilled in Ukraine. Not yet. Nor are we getting the pay off money the idiot Trump is getting

Senator Chris Murphy lays out, with chilling clarity, a flurry of destructive decisions over a single week that expose a deeply sinister reality:
Trump is doing Moscow's bidding, gutting sanctions, choking off vital air defenses, and leveraging America's foreign policy to force a capitulation of Ukraine tailored entirely to the Kremlin.
Chris Murphy, U.S. senator :
“I think you have to see all of this is part of a pattern. Zelenskyy has said this out loud but it seems pretty obvious that Trump has decided he's going to put Ukraine in a position where they may be pressured to capitulate.
You've got the decision on diesel sanctions that he's going to allow Russia to sell diesel on the world market which helps them fund the war.
He just announced he's not going to implement any of the congressional sanctions that were authorised just a week ago.
The news tonight that he is slow walking or not selling any additional interceptors to Ukraine and Star shield being down.
This is a pattern of behavior over the course of about a week that looks to be a strategy, a strategy to put Russia in the most powerful position possible in order to gain a settlement, a ceasefire that is on Russia's terms.
It's just absolutely devastating there's no reason for it, frankly Ukraine was making really important gains on the battlefield over the course of the last year, notwithstanding Trump's refusal to help. And I guess putin has called in a favour, using whatever leverage he has over the president, and you're seeing the results of that in this series of decisions.”
Got to watch these rogues theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Yeah but if you’re Trump it’ll be worth it to give Vlad what he wants and to get Witkoff more selfies and precious memories and big deals for the boys
Baby Anhelina and her mom Inna were killed by Russia yesterday.
Anhelina was just over a year old. Her mom, Inna Mariukhna, was a primary school teacher. They were in the park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region, when a Russian drone attacked.
Little Anhelina was killed in her stroller. Her mom died of her injuries in hospital.
Another girl killed in the strike was just 11 years old.
Six people lost their lives from that Russian strike. All of them had simply been spending time in the park. At least 15 more were injured, including seven kids.
Deepest condolences...
Of course we should approve of the gas fields rather than buy identical stuff from Norway. We’ve had enough phoney Green gesture politics for one month theguardian.com/environment/…
And they’re all fans of Trump . Hang on to your wallets

Nope, we don’t stand with dodgy Elon and he certainly doesn’t stand with us, not even with “Tommy” Yaxley Robinson. Elon’s using “Tommy”like one of his experimental rockets, seeing how high he will go before he explodes
While you all abuse Burnham you might recall that Labour inc health sec Burnham (2008-10) took seriously Swine flu threat. Topical, eh rusi.org/explore-our-researc…
France is in flames (yet he wants to rejoin the EU).
Trump is selling out Ukraine, cosying up to Putin again
A cost-of-living crunch is looming this winter, especially fuel bills.
He still hasn’t told us how or when defence spending will reach 3% GDP.
Inflation is rising once more, as are interest rates.
Russian forces are threatening our infrastructure, especially undersea data and energy links.
The Strait of Hormuz remains closed, our Gulf allies are under attack.
And PM Burnham drivels about this!!
It’s like the opening sketch from Saturday Night Live.
Yes, Bill, we hear such Palestinian interviews on the bbc regularly , often quite harrowing
Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites

That’s a very strange take, Bass, can you explain your thinking eg a) do you know the rioters are not rightwing rioters under cover of a peaceful protest b) are you telling us you don’t remember a rightwing race or migration protest which turned nasty ?
Oh dear, I do miss you,?Stephen . Your photo is still in my wallet xx

@BBCr4today @BBCRadio4 @michaelwhite "We have a right to peaceful protest in UK", says @AngelaRayner ? Is this woman blind to all the peaceful #FREEPALESTİNE protestors who have been arrested? Or just a liar?
Thanks. Let’s wait and see what the voters think
