Hatsunia represents an optimistic counterpart to the trope of โJapan as a dystopian Cyberpunk superpowerโ and tech doomerism in general.
So it is inspired by aesthetics like Cyberprep and Frutiger Aero, which emphasize "the positives of technological advancement."

Mirrorshades, an alternate history map by RvBOMally inspired by 1980s retrofuturism and cyberpunk.
"Japan is the most advanced state in the world, the pioneer of just about every new piece of tech out there."

The deployment of the Valkyrie Class Tug has proven highly economical: The tug can cut the transit time to Ceres from 780 to below 300 days. In the belt it is then commonly sold as a product, as valuable as any freight it helped boost out!

The Valkyrie Class Interplanetary Transport Tug is unique among the large freight haulers of the 2060s: It is fully assembled on the martian surface and then launched in one piece via Skyhook. At 168 kt fully fuelled this makes it the largest spacecraft not assembled in orbit

A real problem with all scifi about the future becoming grimdark and dystopia is that every time a new technology is developed, the kneejerk expectation among those exposed to that media will be to equate it being futuristic with it being dystopic.

My question for people that think like this is why they tolerate any other country existing on Earth at all, especialy with nuclear weapons?
I swear crab bucket mentality doesn't want to let anyone escape their control, like Earth's gravity well is the Berlin wall of space.

A map of the "Strangereal" world of Ace Combat compared to our world. Osea is like a mega-USA, while Yuktobania is like a mega-USSR.
