I know I said I would bring that file in to our data warehouse, but it was only ingest.

The most important thing about this amazing Paris transformation is how fast it happened — how fast people on bikes “appeared” — once streets were transformed. You can’t write this off as “Paris was always this way,” because it wasn’t. It took leadership.

I have a roofing joke, but it's probably over your head.
I’d tell you a joke about passing a parameter to a command line tool but it always turns into an argument

Continuous improvement: Take something that sucks, and make it suck slightly less. (definition first heard from @ourfounder)

Happy #MayThe4th! I think I did better this year on the @billamend-inspired breakfast. teapawt.org/mkeCharlie/status/1124…
Thanks for the breakfast idea today, @billamend. I served my boys these while humming the Imperial March.

Networking during COVID-19 might in some cases be better than it was before. Looking forward to a video cocktail with @teradee, @tottinge, and @ourfounder tonight!

Milwaukee's airport code is literally part of my Twitter handle, and I don't think I can forgive you for number 7. (A fountain is where you throw coins!) #MilwaukeeStrong
Let’s clear some things up: 1. It’s cornhole not bags 2. It’s pop not soda 3. It’s walking taco not taco in a bag 4. Kwik Trip > Kum n Go 5. Ope is a lifestyle 6. Ranch is a primary food group 7. And these are called water fountains not bubblers

I'm currently enjoying advice from @mkeCharlie about reading Hackers and Painters by Paul Graham. It's a great book. #codemash2020

I am often asked what I think about scaled agile frameworks. This slide does a good job of summing up my viewpoint, except for the last point. We need more research on how successful large companies coordinate the work of small autonomous teams to achieve larger goals.
I'm really liking the writing on this slide. I hadn't thought of it that way, good to see.

Thread. "It's so great to see you!" Easy words, true, and makes it safe for people who may have been away for reasons they don't want to share. Make it safe.
Depression and anxiety are different for everyone, but for me, when I haven’t seen someone in a long time for reasons related to my mental health, there’s definitely a difference in what the other person should and should not say the first time they see me again.
This is a great strategy for improving your signal-to-noise ratio. Also your blood pressure.
So I don't get sucked in, I'm just going to check the news yearly from now on, to see who wore it better and who has been impeached or whatnot.

False dichotomy. Coding is a creative process. #CodeNewbie

I'm doing squirrel driven development... a small task leads to a side-improvement idea, then I spotted something and wanted to make it consistent across all functions, then another thing popped up...
