I see we've moved onto just straight out lying. What's even more amazing is how getting bodied hard by the community notes doesn't seem to stop people from trying to rewrite history.
There was never a lockdown anywhere in America. You were never forced to stay in your house. At most, you were really inconvenienced for a month, and had to adjust to things being a little different for a while

During 2020, 42 US states and territories issued stay-at-home orders, affecting 73% of US counties worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings…. Violations of these emergency orders were legally enforceable and resulted in citations and arrests propublica.org/article/restri…

Allow me to be the one to inform you… we do not care. We never cared. We won’t ever care.
Americans are really underestimating the level of anger at them, here in Canada. It has turbocharged anti-American sentiment, and it's becoming more permanent by the minute.

Driving 30 minutes in Houston will get you to... Houston.
I still laugh every time an American says somewhere is “close” and it’s a 30 minute drive.

The more stuff that happens in this world, the more I'm convinced that people live in distinct alternate realities.

Tell me you’ve never bought a gun without telling me you’ve never bought a gun 😂
Requiring REAL IDs and passports and birth certificates to vote?!? Imagine if these were required to buy a gun.

Coming back to this post... I'm thinking that the ideas in Path need to come back in a new app. The idea that you can only have 20-ish "friends" on the app to keep the circle tight is something I think the world could use right now.
Man… I loved Path and the ideas it had going. I think it was little do “close circle” for early social networking at the time it was around.

The TL;DR version: "Tell me you don't understand why your side lost, without telling me you don't understand why your side lost."
1. What you see here is clearest illustration why things are so messed up and why it cannot get any better until this asymmetry is addressed. Put simply: right-wing has narrative dominance. My org (@mmfa) did this study and been sounding this alarm for years. Some thoughts...

I want @BernieSanders to become a billionaire so bad. That way he'll shut up about them. Just like he did millionaires, after he became a millionaire.
Abraham Lincoln talked about a vision of an America with a government of, by, and for the people. 13 of Trump's nominees are billionaires. What we have right now is a government of, by, and for the billionaire class. We've got to fight back.

I worked at Path back in 2012. Today, I found the codebase I had on a hard drive and managed to get it building after all these years. Very broken and unusable with no servers, but I'm about to cry. Working at @path was probably the best time of my life. 🥹

I'm sorry, but $40/month for full ad-free is a ridiculous price.

I don’t want a $5000 check. I want to abolish the IRS.

The terms are acceptable.
Schumer is panicking: "If DOGE can shut down USAID, next it might be the IRS or intelligence agencies"

This right here. Most of what people people complain about with regards to capitalism is either A) crony capitalism, B) government interfering in free-market capitalism, or C) government regulation, allowing crony capitalism, which lobbies government to keep it in power.
The biggest threat to capitalism is crony capitalism.

The confession through projection continues unabated.

It feels like so much of modern "progressive-ism" is rooted in trying to deny well instilled evolutionary instinct, and attempting to use language to contort reality to the whims of what it wants to be a truth it can not and will never be.

I have an idea… Shut the government down. Then, and hear me out on this, leave it shutdown.

Honestly, until they can fix: 1. The limited range and 2. Battery charging speeds (or figure out how to do full swaps) Doing long road trips with an EV isn't going happen anytime soon. I love the idea of EV for doing hyper-local errands, but if I'm going from Houston to even Galveston, I'm taking a gas car.
99% of cars will be electric and autonomous in the future. Manually-driven gasoline cars will be like riding a horse while using a flip phone. Still happens, but it’s rare.

This!
Here’s an easy one for @DOGE ! ELIMINATE foreign aid! It’s taking money from the poor and middle class in the US and giving it to the rich in poor countries - with a cut to the facilitators in between! Americans don’t want their government to borrow more money to spend on foreign aid. Besides, it is the immoral transfer of wealth and is unconstitutional.
