Today was about Causes of the War of 1812. We used an awesome activity called "Dividing the Pie" where students determine which causes had the most impact. They also had to justify why they ranked the impacts the way they did. Can't wait for them to share! #engagement #edutwitter

The lesson of the week is one of the first big games I made for my class. In Settlers of America students compete to build the most successful colony by making decisions about multiple historical events. mrroughton.com/blog/gamifyin… They loved it again! #sschat
Not sure how the transition will go, but if you are hanging out where the skies are blue, then please find me! @historywithmonnat #sschat (and then teach me how to rebuild there).

What a great idea!!!
Ss @HeritageBroncos created an Andrew Jackson Oval Office. They designed items by connecting what they learned about him and his presidency. Ex: the Nullification Crisis, spoils system, suffrage, Indian Removal Act, & The Trail of Tears. @gcisdSS

How is everyone teaching the nuts and bolts of paragraph writing for a research paper? Do you have something you love in teaching writing intros and conclusions? I'd love to hear about it because I'm in the thick of it right now! #sschat
#sschat question a student asked that I haven't been able to easily find an answer too...after the Quebec Act of 1774, were American colonists free to move into the Ohio River Valley (thereby negating the Proclamation of 1763)?

This week's historical escapade in class: Navigating Washington's Presidency challenges with the finesse of political speed dating and a dash of history lab flair. Because who said history can't be the life of the party? 🎩📜 #ClassyHistory #PresidentialCharm WGMSWildcats

@historysandoval I love your idea about doing an infographic for showing content. Is there a particular platform that I could suggest to my students for creating this?

Have some fun while revising. If your students are revising for their mocks, they may find this Battleship retrieval game useful. The topic is Germany 1918-1939. If you’d like a copy, please click on the link drive.google.com/file/d/1O0z… #historyteacher
these are the types of primary sources students love! thanks for sharing.
