Help get @abdulelsayed elected to the senate! Jewish safety depends on a real multiracial democracy—and Abdul is the one fighting to protect it. Get involved and help at abdulforsenate.com/vote go.abdulforsenate.com We know how much it matters to live in a country where our rights are protected, where the law applies equally to everyone, and where the majority can’t just decide that some people don’t deserve the same freedoms. The safety and freedom we’ve found in America didn’t happen by accident. They exist because of democracy. And protecting democracy means protecting Jewish safety, too. We know what happens when those protections start to break down. When courts are weakened, elections are undermined, and people lose equal protection under the law, minorities are often the first to pay the price. Jews have seen this throughout our history. It’s one of the reasons so many of our families sought refuge in democratic countries. That’s why I find it so alarming to see what’s happening right now. When masked government agents are taking people off the streets and citizens are being shot in public, we should all be worried about where things are headed. As Jews, we know that when a government starts targeting certain groups of people, no one should assume they’re safe from what comes next. Mike Rogers has chosen to align himself with a movement that is willing to attack our democracy. He stood with Trump and refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. And now we’re seeing what happens when a political movement treats the rights and dignity of certain people as disposable. For Jews, these things should set off alarm bells. Jewish safety is tied to the health of our democracy. We can’t protect one without protecting the other. And in this Senate race, Abdul is the candidate who understands that and is willing to fight for it. #abdulelsayed #democracy #jewish #midterms

So-called Mr Clean…
Former minister and Dechert lawyer Camille Abu Sleiman has lost Swiss court proceedings against Accountability Now and its president, Swiss lawyer Zena Wakim. The Swiss judges questioned the “evidentiary value” of material submitted by Abu Sleiman, raising concerns about “how they were obtained” in circumstances that “remain unclear.” Abu Sleiman was ordered to pay CHF 6,000 (US$ 7,200) in legal costs. The judgment against Abu Sleiman is final and executory. According to criminal proceedings initiated by Banque du Liban, more than US$600 million in central bank funds were channeled through Bankmed and Bank Audi for the benefit of senior Lebanese politicians and banking figures. The series of transactions were structured by Camille Abu Sleiman, who acted as legal counsel to Bank Audi and Bankmed while also advising Banque du Liban, raising serious questions about potential conflicts of interest. Accountability Now intends to refer the conduct of Abu Sleiman and Dechert to the relevant UK professional regulator, seeking scrutiny of the pressure exerted on civil society actors, potential conflicts of interest, and the acquisition and use of evidence. This includes false written allegations made by Samara Azzi in support of Abu Sleiman’s unsuccessful application. Separately, the Swiss court found the probative value of two exhibits submitted by Abu Sleiman doubtful because the circumstances in which they had been obtained remained unclear. The ruling marks a significant victory for civil society against legal pressure aimed at restricting investigations into corruption and impunity in Lebanon. The Lebanese Depositors Union had previously publicly denounced alleged threats and attempts at blackmail by Abu Sleiman, which it said were intended to force it to abandon its criminal complaints in Lebanon.

No words. And many will only believe the crimes committed in Gaza when the snipers get on camera - hidden face, altered voice- to confess their atrocities.
Israeli occupation forces killed a child in Khans Younis yesterday.. When his father crawled towards him and started to pull him, the Israeli occupation forces started shooting at him..

If you read one thing this month, let it be this
Yesterday, I watched Naza. I did not go to learn what had happened in Gaza. I am from there. I am one of the victims of this war, one of its witnesses, and one of those who have paid a price that will not end when the war does. I did not need a film to tell me how entire neighborhoods were wiped away, how residential buildings were bombed with the people still inside them, or how families were forced to leave their homes without knowing where they were supposed to go. Nor did I need anyone to tell me about the famine. I lived through it twice, with all its humiliations, down to the smallest detail. Or about the starving people who were killed while trying to reach what were so absurdly called “food distribution centers.” I know all of this. I was there. There is NO justification ever, under ANY moral code or international law, for one country to purposely destroy entire villages of another country, let alone during a "ceasefire." These are barbaric war crimes, streamed to the world.

Three years ago today, the Israeli military killed Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah. Several organizations, including @amnesty & @hrw, found the attack to be a deliberate attack on civilians - a war crime. It’s been three years of impunity, for this case & countless others.

Over 25,000 innocent children have been murdered in Gaza. Paid for by American tax dollars. I will challenge any person who calls themselves a Christian that supports completely annihilating an entire population of people and innocent children. We cannot be silent.

We can either have free healthcare, or we can have enough bombs to supply Israel's global genocide, and their free healthcare. We can't do both.

$4,000 per year per American. That’s how much interest we are paying on the debt to banks & foreign countries every year. A family of four owes $16,000 per year for nothing but interest on the debt! I lost my re-election because I voted against the policies that caused this.

This investigation by the Financial Times is staggering in its findings and in its scope and methodological rigor. Some of the findings, backed up by incredible levels of forensic evidence: 1) Israel completed much of its systematic destruction across Israeli-occupied southern Lebanon after Israeli forces took control of already-emptied villages in mid-April, and after the April 17 ceasefire. The ceasefire was used to make these areas completely uninhabitable. 2) The scale of destruction is incredible. Roughly 85,000 housing units damaged or destroyed (likely an undercount); 62 villages and farms inside the "yellow line" occupation zone, covering ~6% of Lebanon and extending ~10km inland, with ~270,000 residents barred from returning. Over 20% of the south's farmland and forest destroyed, ancient olive groves worst hit. All Litani river bridges destroyed; at least 2,500km of water infrastructure gone. 3) This is stated policy and an intentional plan to make an entire area uninhabitable and never allow the population to return. Defence minister Israel Katz explicitly invoked the "Rafah and Beit Hanoun model" and later boasted of destroying "24 Lebanese villages… not house by house, but entire villages." 4) This is without a doubt a war crime. Destruction of property requires immediate military necessity and not speculative ideas that Hezbollah may use a building some day. Not allowing the return amounts to the ethnic cleansing of the area. The lack of any real consequences for Gaza, meant that Israel felt free to do the same in Lebanon. It is now doing the same in the West Bank. This will stop unless we stop it.
An FT visual investigation found systematic destruction across Israeli-occupied southern Lebanon, crippling systems essential to civilian life, from water and energy infrastructure to medical care. Raya Jalabi reports on the scale of the devastation. ft.trib.al/atpwoGT

Samir Hanna was indicted today in Lebanon over the suspected embezzlement of $154 million in 2010 and $102 million in 2012, allegedly channeled through a sophisticated scheme involving Bank Audi that benefited politically exposed individuals. Former central bank governor Riad Salameh has also been indicted. Today’s indictment vindicates the investigations and criminal filings of Accountability Now, who was first to expose the alleged use of fictitious Cayman Islands companies, MOSF and Levant, to channel corruption proceeds — a scheme now confirmed by the prosecutor.

The so called Board of Peace is abandoning plans to rebuild Gaza. Assuming it ever took them seriously. Instead it will only build the concentration camp Israel wants it to: 1) Kushner's January promise — water, power, hospitals, bakeries restored across the strip in 100 days is dead. 2) What's left is a concentration camp in all but name: portable cabins for "tens of thousands" out of 2.1M displaced, in the buffer zone, with Israel holding decisive say over who's vetted in. 3) Diplomats involved believe that the genocide will soon be restarted in full gear, which is one of the reasons no one wants to rebuild. Israel has killed 1,100+ Gazans since the October ceasefire, now occupies close to 70% of the strip. No one will ever rebuild it for the Palestinians. They will now be round up and deported or killed. The Board of Peace is just there to help.

This is your legacy on the occupied Palestinian territory, Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer. History will remember your complicity. Despite a partial arms suspension in 2024, Keir Starmer's government has continued to enable Israel's atrocities against Palestinians, their families and children through the supply of F-35 fighter jet parts. Nothing can change the horrors Palestinians have faced. But the next Prime Minister has an opportunity to put an end to the UK Government's role as an ally to atrocities. The UK Government must: 🔴 Suspend all arms sales to Israel 🔴 Suspend the UK-Israel trade and partnership agreement 🔴 Ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements To the next Prime Minister: what will your plaque say?

A suspected $1bn+ money-laundering scheme run by Bank Audi France and Lebanon is targeted by Accountability Now in a criminal complaint filed with the French prosecutors (PNF). The alleged fraud includes hundreds of millions of dollars of unverified cash deposts in a manner reminiscent of Project Cassandra as well as over $40m to Alaa Khawaja, through Audi France, in the wake of the allegedly fraudulent acquisition of 38% in BankMed capital facilitated by Samir Hanna.
