The latest ABS data highlights a significant challenge in fiscal management: the federal public sector wage bill has increased by another 7% last financial year, now topping $43.7 Billion.
The figures paint a stark picture:
The commonwealth public service has expanded by 14.7% since the government took office, nearly double the growth rate of the private sector workforce.
The total public sector wages bill has risen by 35% over the same period.
The Consultant Spend Contradiction
Finance Minister Katy Gallagher recently declined to commit to net savings and acknowledged that the shift away from external consultants has not met expectations.
Despite stated intentions to reduce reliance on labor hire, spending on consultants reached a record $860 Million last financial year, a 9% increase compared to the Coalition's final year in 2021-22.
Impact on Monetary Policy
With the Reserve Bank of Australia implementing its fifth rate hike of the year to address domestic capacity pressures, economists and business groups are calling for tighter fiscal discipline ahead of the mid year budget update to help curb inflation.
Adding to the fiscal pressure, the CPSU has rejected a 3 year, 9% pay offer, holding out for a 15% wage increase and a four day work week trial.
This is incompetence.
Australians are paying the price through higher mortgages, higher rents, and higher taxes while the public sector keeps expanding.
Who in their right mind is still voting for this?

IN AUG 2021 20,000 AUSSIE TEENS RECEIVED COVID JABS...WITH NO INFORMED CONSENT...
Yes it was a long time ago, but new evidence has just come to light that make this worthy of discussion.
In August 2021, roughly 20,000 Year 12 students from western Sydney were pushed through the Qudos Bank Arena vaccination hub in five days so they could sit their HSC exams.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard told them to "go for gold," borrowing Olympic imagery and the venue's rock-star pedigree to SELL a medical intervention to teenagers.
They lined up and were churned through, with
NO INFORMED CONSENT.
They weren't told that earlier that same week, Australia's drug regulators the TGA had officially updated the Pfizer product information to include the risk of
MYOCARDITIS AND PERICARDITIS
following 66 reported cases of heart inflammation in Australia.
Days before they were jabbed, Australia had published an official safety warning.
Nobody told the kids.
Instead they were given a QR code to scan on their phone....WITH NO MENTION OF CARDIAC RISK ON THE QR CODE INFORMATION.
In April 2022, one father of a hub vaccinated teen lodged a complaint.
NSW Health's Western Sydney Local Health District PRIVATELY APOLOGISED in April 2022, admitting its service "fell short in ensuring patients were provided with sufficient information to allow informed consent to occur."
This father has now gone public, and an Australian journalist has made the story public (link in comments)
THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND APOLOGY WAS NEVER MADE PUBLIC.
Not a single one of the 40,000 parents of those 20,000 teens, were informed.....and none of them received an apology, for the "rounding up" and jabbing of their (highest demographic risk) teens.....

Children’s Hospital Colorado has vaccinated over 18,000 kids while they were under anesthesia and Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania has vaccinated nearly 2,000.
No consent was given to do this, they just took it upon themselves to do it.
