In Lyon, a school with people inside was set on fire. I remember some guy called borrell from the EU describing Europe as a blooming ‘garden.’ Would you like to visit a garden like this?
Tomorrow is LBMA day. LBMA has made a mockery of PBC for more months than I care to remember. Does the century of humiliation continue?
Place your bets.
There was a time (1990s) when HF blowups threatened the system (LTCM). Now HFs are meaningless manifestations of the system.
A fixed price gold bond. How is that different from a gold standard?
Gold at $18,000 an ounce?
It sounds crazy. But @LukeGromen, founder of FFTT (Forest for the Trees), sees a scenario where America's debt crisis and a weakening dollar could send gold soaring.
He breaks down his thesis with @dferris1961 on this week's Stansberry Investor Hour.

'You have to get the gold price right'.
Oh, the thing no nation in history has gotten right. Ok, then.
Now that Texas is blue, what state will Elon move his companies to? #homelessbillionaire
That is a lot of wasted words to advocate for a fixed price gold bond, which is nothing more than a gold standard.
On 9 Oct, Scott Bessent made Judy Shelton Counselor to the Secretary. She reports directly to him. She has spent 14 years designing a Treasury bond redeemable in gold.
On 17 Jan 2025 she wrote in the New York Sun: "Imagine if President Trump were to direct his Treasury secretary to issue a 50-year debt obligation that could be redeemed in gold on July 4, 2076." At maturity the holder chooses dollars or gold.
Good as Gold puts the bond first, then a commission, then a fixed value for the dollar. "The dollar is made as good as gold by pledging gold convertibility of a Treasury bond at maturity with a nominal face value defined in dollars."
4 Jul 2026 passed without that offering. Treasury hired the author of the gold bond to do the job the bond was designed for.
The essay sets out the bond's proposed maturity choice and the sequence that follows it.
