Jeff Yan: Hyperliquid Is More Like the Internet or Linux Than a Traditional Exchange
Hyperliquid Labs co-founder Jeff Yan @chameleon_jeff said at DAS Asia 2026 on October 7 that Hyperliquid should not simply be viewed as a competitor to any particular exchange. He noted that Hyperliquid was initially compared to DeFi protocols, then major crypto exchanges, and now even traditional giants like CME and Nasdaq, yet none is a perfect comparison.
Yan argued that Hyperliquid is more like the internet or Linux, providing neutral public infrastructure rather than building multiple systems that serve the same purpose. He emphasized that the Hyperliquid community is not trying to replace existing platforms, but hopes to empower them with technology that helps them better serve their users.

Happy Pythagorean Theorem Day!
10/24/26
10² + 24² = 26²
This is the last one we’ll experience in our lifetime.

This baboon Elon made it so that if you click any link on here, that website you go to can get your twitter account info if it gets compromised
Which is how I have 3k+ sessions apparently
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
High session counts are a recent X app glitch from in-app browser use creating phantom Web sessions. External sites get no account info or access. Log out others via Settings > Security and account access > Apps and sessions.

why are all the hl fanboys gay?
notice the ai chad (wang): wavy volume hairmaxx, softer jaw and boyish features, glasses + mullet combo for a chaotic frame. he feels the instinctive need to both framemog and jestermax via his boisterous tee.
the ai beta (wu): high zygos under the big laugh, compact face with good width-to-height ratio, positive energy maxxing the soft tissue. he submits; he knows he can't win a frame mog nor jestermax competition, so he strategically hides himself but logo shills at the center of the frame. very clever wu, very slytherin.
and then there's jeff: clean short hair, strong smile revealing solid teeth and midface projection, glasses slightly soft the hunter-eye potential. absolute chad. you can tell hes been mewing. the plush purr to disarm and dismantle the ai chads. he's a man of the people.
wang thought he'd have the last laugh with his boisterous graphic tee. wu thought he could outsmart his competitors from the shadows. jeff needs neither jester nor shadows: he is him.

It's crazy that there's a tool out there that's become vital to they way I do my job, parent my kids, and make major life decisions; and yet we barely spend more on it than AI

Your project deserves more than a one click deploy, or even just a custom hook. It deserves complete control of its liquidity profiles, fee capture, and what it trades against without boundaries.
That's where Abyss comes in. Time to go deep.

UPDATE: I can confirm that the Ledger supply chain is compromised in Europe as well. @Ledger should initiate an immediate product recall to protect users.
I just purchased a second device from a different Mediamarkt location today, recorded the unboxing process, and discovered spyware once again (video linked in the second tweet).
The device was compromised in the exact same manner, featuring identical modifications (such as additional cables and an LTE module). This indicates its a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident, potentially affecting Ledger inventory across MediaMarkt and Saturn stores throughout Europe (comprising over 1,000 stores across 11 countries).
My initial hypothesis was that these devices were returns that looked unopened to the employees and were just sold again as new however, a MediaMarkt employee confirmed that the device I purchased was not a return, and that returned Ledgers are sent directly back to the manufacturer rather than resold.
Store records show the inventory originated from Aqipa GmbH. While Ledger's CTO was unsure if Aqipa serves as the direct distributor between Ledger and MediaMarkt, it appears to be the case. Given that Aqipa distributes across Europe, any physical retail store receiving stock through them may be at risk.
I sent the first ledger to mark and the second one is going to ledger now, so that they can analyse it.
If you purchased a ledger from anyone other than the official ledger store, make sure to check your device!!

FAIR POND
THE MANIFESTO
"LET THEM FISH" 🎣
In the interest of your attention, I will try to keep this short’ish;
10 days ago an account on Pump.Fun “WoodCampChad” launched his second game within a month, “Pair Pond ($PAIR)” after previously rugging his other multiplayer game “TicketThieves($THIEVES)” just moments before.
Despite the track record, immediately Pair Pond drew instant fanfare – for the first time in a long time, I saw users playing, interacting with each other, and genuinely sharing an experience in a crypto native game.
The idea behind the game itself wasn’t just good – it was great. There was a real stickiness to it. Genuine excitement, novel sort of gacha mechanics. It needed some work and had bugs around – but I felt it in my loins there was something here, for sure, and I wasn’t alone. I was having an awesome time digitally fishing in this multiplayer experience.
This year has been tough for me in crypto getting burned on memecoins and fomo outside of my comfort circle, but I thought my luck could change here. I invested over $3,000 to acquire ~1%+ of the token supply.
But little to no surprise, within 48 hours – the dev started having “issues” with the game.
First it was the bots – dev allowed users to create accounts at no cost, and at no verification.
Then it was the “treasury” – dev explained that he would work to combat the bots, but they had already drained the treasury.
And then it was the silence..
And on the 3rd day..when the market cap of $PAIR drifted from a previous all time high of $650,000 to just $15,000(held to the bottom basically) – believe it or not, I went to join the server to play and there were over 40+ real players online.
Players were still fishing – but everyone knew emotionally what came next.
Just another rug…another loss of time..
People were saying their last goodbyes. New friendships were made here over the course of the 3 days.
Tired of all the bullshit, I was struck with lightning.
Not this time, I said to myself.
Immediately I began taking measures to try and record the game, record the experience, and dig deeper into the mechanics and all that went wrong here.
What I found wont be surprising to hear if you’ve already made it this far..
I found out the dev was capping aggregate payouts between all players at $500/day, and siphoned over $17,000 in $SOL before taking the final blow and removing the website from being online.
Luckily in time, the good guys got enough of what we needed to start the resurgence, to start the rebuilding, to bring back the pond, but not just any pond, The FAIR Pond.
It is now my destiny as steward of the Fair Pond and self appointed Dock Master to bring this to life.
I believe whole heartedly Fair Pond has a chance to become the greatest crypto native game of all time.
Things will be done right here and transparent.
Things will be done FAIR.
And here’s where that starts;
The pond will open doors with a max of 500 people fishing at the same time. (we will scale this)
Fair Pond operates at a 90/10 split – 90% of all trading fees go to the treasury wallet that purchases tokens/prizes and handles distributions. The remaining 10% in $SOL fees go to the team wallet which will be sold as needed to pay for infra scaling needs as required.
All users are required to have a “Fishing License” (small amount of native token burned) and connect an X account to enter the game. The license enables you to start catching fish immediately with the base equipment and bait. In order to catch the more lucrative and rare fish, users will need to upgrade their equipment by purchasing and burning additional native tokens.
The team will acquire ~3.5% of all native tokens at launch, in which ~2% of the tokens will plan to be sold on an inconsistent amortized basis over the course of 90 days commencing 14 days from token launch. Please see more details in docs for reference.
Instead of the old Pair Pond experience whereas the sea was filled with shitters, lots of the time fake tokens users were launching themselves – Fair Pond is stocked solely with fish consuming the circulating top 25 market cap tokens on Solana and rare golden stock token fish.
In addition to being able to catch coin based fish themselves – we have now inserted ultra rare Pokemon RWA NFT’s (via Collector Crypt inventory) “Golden Card Fish” , which can be pulled up out of the ocean just as any normal fish for all users with above-base equipment.
This game has a chance to be something special, something novel, and I think I can be the right person to get it there.
There will be no more questions of the intricacies of the mechanics, if/when dev selling, of someone rugging, team bundling, whatever happens here – happens Fair. And if I lose money over doing it this way then so be it – but the people deserve better.
I welcome you to pick up your fishing license today, and come try out the Fair Pond yourself.
Good things happening here.
