YKK sells about 40% of the world's zippers by value. And the reason they dominate is the most extreme vertical integration story in manufacturing, even more extreme than SpaceX. They melt their own brass from copper and zinc, make and dye their own thread, weave their own tape, make their own teeth, and, the kicker, they build the machines that make all of it. A YKK zipper made in Georgia is built to the same standard as one made in Japan because they control every input back to the metal. That started with an American machine. In 1950 YKK imported four zipper chain machines from the US. By 1953 it had patented its own improvement. In 1964 it finished the CM6, the chain machine YKK still calls the foundation of its whole production system.

Today is a mathematical date we won't see again for 78 years. 10/24/26 10² + 24² = 26² It's called a Pythagorean Triple Day. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples, but only 12 dates this century satisfy the equation.Today is the last. Next one: March 4, 2105.

37,2. Via: tiktok.com/@Ansenjeo

In 2004, a German demoscene group released a game called .kkrieger. It was a full 3D first-person shooter with dynamic lighting, textures, sound effects, music, and monster AI. The entire executable was 96 kilobytes. Instead of storing images and audio files, they wrote C++ and Assembly that generated the 3D meshes, textures, and sound waves mathematically in RAM when the game booted. Today, a single website's "Accept Cookies" banner is 10x larger than that entire 3D game.

Let me show you something crazy. This is Qwen 3.8 27B, and every frame is 1 real equation from the model's actual math. The prompt is easy and thinking is off: we ask what the capital of France is, with a one-word reply. If you think this video is doing math fast, it's actually skipping about 7.2 MILLION equations between every frame. After all the math, Qwen gives the final answer: "Paris". That one-word answer took 25.8 BILLION equations, and my NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell did it in about 13 milliseconds. This video is 32 billion times slower than the actual GPU. Showing every single equation at one per frame at 60 fps would take over 13 years, for one word. Now imagine scaling that from 27B parameters up to models with hundreds of billions or even trillions of parameters, and that's why AI needs so much compute. Appreciate your GPUs, no matter which one you have. They're actually insane.

Hello computer, Find every Amazon purchase I ever made. Call the number of the manufacturer. Say you’re not satisfied. Request a refund. If they decline, threaten to leave a bad review. If they decline, find the CEO’s phone number and ask him for a refund. Now, repeat the same process for items I never even purchased and see if you can get them to send me money. If they ask for a recipient, generate an image of one and send that. Do not stop until you’ve collected $1 million in refunds.

China-developed VELLINK, the country’s first digital metro train equipped with embodied intelligence, was unveiled at the 2026 International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, which kicked off in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday. By integrating embodied AI, a comprehensive sensing network, proprietary AI algorithms and high-speed communications, the train can perceive, make decisions and interact intelligently, shifting from passively following commands to proactively optimizing operations. Lightweight materials and energy-efficient systems reduce the train’s weight by about 18%, while overall energy savings exceed 10% and full-life-cycle carbon emissions are reduced by about 15%.

Modern manufacturing robots are far more precise than they look. A six-axis industrial robot can move a tool through several metres of space and repeatedly bring it back to within a few hundredths of a millimetre. Some precision oriented systems achieve repeatability of around 0.02-0.05 mm. That precision is one reason mass manufacturing looks the way it does today. A car body can move through a factory floor while robots weld the same points, drill the same holes and paint complex surfaces with almost identical movements, thousands of times over. The first industrial robots entered factories in the early 1960s, mostly doing repetitive and dangerous work. Sixty years later, they can repeat precise movements thousands of times with a consistency that humans simply cannot maintain at industrial scale.

it’s really funny watching ai doomers go on media tours describing what sounds like their wildest wet dreams. they don’t even hide it. they have some kind of extinction fetish. doomsday scenarios are their favorite genre of erotica. smirking, panting, sweating, practically drooling every time they get to say "extinction" or "catastrophe" you can see the excitement in their eyes as the scenario gets worse. "and then gpt-8 escapes containment…" *gasps* "and then civilization collapses…" *moans* "and... and then your grandma gets obliterated…" *comes* brother, it's obvious this is better than porn for you.
