Kind of tickled that my interviews with @AntonHur and @niewview were the second, and third most read in @asymptotejrnl in 2025! Here's to a 2026 of more fun conversations - thank you to everyone who took the time to chat with me! asymptotejournal.com/blog/20…

Coming in at #3: Our interview with Jen Calleja on why literary translation is more than just language: “Translation is this human-to-human thing—someone’s telling me a story, and I’m going to have to retell it.” tinyurl.com/2n6yn7kj

I'm only halfway through but this book by @niewview is soooo good - it makes the invisible visible by taking the reader through various stands and activities at a fair to experience being a translator.
I feel like we need something as fun and engaging for ME.

I'm currently reading the copy of "Fair" that I bought at @edbookfest, and my blood is boiling at the unfairness of it all, not only what @niewview recounts about her own journey as a literary #translator, but also the parts of it that apply to my work as a commercial translator

The City and The World by Gregor Hens (trans. Jen Calleja) (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Loved this! A style of writing I really enjoy and such interesting content, a lot of it has stuck with me. Vaguely experimental but not in a pretentious way. Really want to read more of his work now.
