This child got shrapnels in his body from a bombing in the Abu Sharkh area on September 13th. Luckily the Tawba Clinic by The Sameer Project was nearby and he managed to come for treatment. Many community kitchens in Gaza provide rice or lentils. People are tired of this food and unfortunately it is sometimes thrown away because the quality of the food is so bad. No queues, no lists, no special treatment. On September 9th, The Sameer Project distributed food to Aedoon Camp in Zahra area. This is in Central area, near the yellow line. 450 meals of kofta (meat) and rice were given to the camp, 67 meals were given to the civil defense and 5 meals to our doctors in the medical point. War profiteering is rampant and signs of an intense famine are looming. The famine never ended in Gaza. In fact it was reengineered. In this week, 20 trucks of coal on average were entering. What are people supposed to do with coal in a genocide? With only 100 or 150 trucks coming in, why are non-essential items coming in? The answer is simple. Nearly 100,000 vehicles have been destroyed in Gaza during the genocide. By October 2026, over 80% of Gaza’s vehicles are estimated to have been destroyed or damaged. Roads are destroyed, fuel is scarce, and the few vehicles still operating are often overcrowded, unreliable, and unaffordable. On September 6th, The Sameer Project team visited the Jenan 6 Camp in Khan Younis as part of a regular visit for chronic illness patients. This is part of a program where our doctors go every two weeks to check on the patients and top up their medication.
