Another year, Turf Paradise can’t escape life support
ICYMI, from @ronflatter @HR_nation, Tom Ludt joined @goofonroof in leaving @turf_paradise ahead of the upcoming season, and the Arizona track seems to be amid turmoil ahead of horses returning for training later this month. horseracingnation.com/news/T…
It makes it all feel like some game when you go out of your way to announce that you can’t release an unreleased model because you think it is dangerous instead of you know… just not releasing it.

Jim Gagliano is retiring after 21 years at the @jockeyclub.
When he started in 2005, there were about 100 Thoroughbred tracks, 35,000 foals born, and $14.5 billion in annual handle. Today, there are roughly 50 tracks and 15,000 foals, and this year’s handle is on pace for about $10 billion. That’s before inflation. 😔
The Titanic sank in hours. Jim and The Jockey Club stewards managed to make the same trip last 21 years. 🤦♂️

Seems to me all this talk of slowing down AI is timed quite well to the IPO race and fundraising. Slowing down frontier development saves a ton in training costs, especially as big companies slow their spend. But sure, let’s do it in the name of safety.
what about all the misleading statements made by @LisaLazarusCEO in those first few days? attempting to make it sound like a sophisticated attack when it clearly wasn’t. How about the “investigator” up in Saratoga? The entire thing is a joke.
Lazarus defends HISA in letter to FTC, saying that Churchill Downs Inc. submitted "inaccurate and misleading statements" to the agency.

With the current NYRA and Kentucky Downs landscape, Saratoga running from the Belmont to the Travers makes the most sense.

Tell me you hate Saratoga without telling me you hate Saratoga.
While @theNYRA CEO and president Dave O'Rourke called the longest-ever Saratoga Race Course "vibrant," he's also looking forward to getting back to the old days at the Spa. Read more: go.bloodhorse.com/4xelBaD @BobEhalt
