The fact that men even know or think that walking away is an option is, in itself, a privilege. The fact that some men can look at fatherhood, decide that the circumstances are no longer favourable to them and consider opting out is something I don't think we talk about enough.
As a man and a dad, I will always say this: I still don’t believe there is any sane man who wakes up one day and becomes a deadbeat without reason. Men love their kids. These little beings always end up being our stress relievers. It’s like you’re sure they’re the only people you can always talk to, and their smiles melt our hearts. But some people are so evil that they will make these men go through the worst, to the extent of hating themselves and their kids in the end, because it’s too hard to love those kids when you’re not on good terms with the mother. Yet, in some way, everyone always expects a man to stay calm and normal, send school fees, provide the basics, and show up for his kids. But do you know the price they pay for this? Before you judge anyone, just know that you’re doing it because you’re not the one going through what they’re going through.

It's been an interesting weekend. Former government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo went off on the regime's recent human rights record on #TheCapitalGang yesterday. You could feel the passion, anger & disenchantment of an elder in his voice. Then a PLU lady says she returned barefoot from Mbale "City" bse she found some youth there who can't afford shoes on their own after 40-years of NRM & surely needed her shoes more than she did. Still in Mbale, Bebe Cool refused to be interviewed by a journalist who didn't have "proper shoes". All this is important bse PLU say they want to champion "Museveni's Thoughts" - the "thought" which has left so many Ugandans without shoes, that is. Meanwhile, the PPST, @rggoobi who told Ugandans his economy would "whack" (some people say they heard "work") went on radio wearing a designer "New York" cap to tell Ugandans to live like the poverty the regime dug them into and stop eating spaghetti & fried food. He didn't ask the same austerity of his bloated regime that has 529 MPs, 83 cabinet Ministers, 250 presidential advisors, organises state funerals worth billions every few weeks, & goes around ditching cars to bishops, traditional leaders & other people that otherwise could afford to buy their own cars. All this while Karamoja people starve to their death! Then Museveni and Kamuntu seemed not to like any form of contact with poor lady from Sheema. They sat close to her, saw her, gave her an envelop with what seems like like, but didn't want to shake her dirty hand in the case of Museveni, or hug her in the case of Kamuntu. Did they think she was carrying a disease? Was it that they thought her visible poverty would contaminate them? Anyway, interesting weekend - but we are Ugandans, hope the week will be better than the weekend! ✌️

sometimes you just gotta sit with the fact that after all of the trauma you actually will never be the same and it did change you fundamentally and there’s no going back

I also think we're uncomfortable w/ the possibility that suffering can fundamentally change someone w/o making them wiser, kinder, or stronger. We want trauma to produce some compensating benefit so the suffering was “worth it,” but unfortunately that’s not always the case

Please don’t make a permanent decision about yourself based on a temporary season. You are not unsuccessful because this year has been difficult. You are not unlovable because this relationship ended. You are not behind because things are taking longer than you expected. A season is not a verdict.

So, according to Mr. Obama, the reason we shall soon be paying Shs 10,000 for a litre of diesel ⛽️ here in Kampala, is because some Americans wanted to TEST/DEMONSTRATE THEIR TESTOSTERONE LEVELS? So it is a TESTOSTERONE WAR, after all...🫣😎!
Barack Obama decided to hit Pete Hegseth with the elbow from the top rope. Absolutely brutal takedown.

A friend in Gaborone just explained this to me: “President Boko declined the title His Excellency saying he’s the same ‘boy’ they’ve always known who continues to champion human rights - hence to remain with the title Advocate. So all the Presidential Portraits that are put in public places had to be reprinted to remove His Excellency and put Advocate.” Then killed me with this; “Apparently he had also refused to exit the WhatsApp groups he was in [before he became president] but I think by now he’s been kicked out.”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hmmh, why do the Batswana refer to “President Advocate Duma Boko”? If he was an architect he’d be “President Architect Duma Boko”?

I lost my wife tonight. Nobody here knows her or me, but she was a lovely, radiant woman who deserves a tribute. In our 18 years together she taught me to be more open minded, not to be quite such a maniac about my hockey team, and that Prince was a genius. Love you 4ever Nikki

The Kampala-Mukono route has been a success that URC was forced to add a night time final ride due to the demand. Can't wait for the expansion of the comutter line to Lugazi, Kyengera, Port Bell and later on daily trips to Jinja.
Greetings, Comrades. We introduce new passenger train trips, effective, 31 August 2026. What is new: 1. Lunchtime trip to Mukono - 1:30 PM 2. Second trip to Mukono at 5:30 PM 3. New coach introduced. No standing options. #RestinPeaceHHOyoNyimbaKabambaIguruRukidiIV

I’ve always said the reason women are too happy to focus the blame of the demise of their marriage on the other woman is because they want to keep loving their home-wreckers. They want to love that cheating man & believe he was a victim of a temptress. That’s why they hate this
If I ever get married and cheat on my wife, please call me the home wrecker, not the woman I pursued and asked to sleep with me. I am the one who left my home, broke my vows and willingly pursued an extramarital affair. I will gladly own my actions and accept full responsibility!
