I've been digging into @2FactorFinance and I think the interesting part isn't just the product, it's the financial design behind it.
Most leverage products are built for traders.
You borrow, pay funding, manage liquidation risk and hope the position works before costs start eating into returns.
2Factor is trying to build leverage for a completely different use case:
long term holding.
The protocol splits exposure into two tranches:
BTC-Jr: takes more of the upside/downside and gets moderate leveraged exposure.
BTC-Sr: takes the more defensive side and earns yield from the premium paid by Junior.
So instead of leverage being funded by short sellers or traditional dealers, you effectively create a market between:
people who want more exposure
and
people who want yield.
What I like most is that they're not trying to sell 10x leverage.
The target is closer to 1.33x, with a focus on long term compounding and capital efficiency.
That's a much more interesting way to think about leverage IMO.
They've started with cbBTC on Base but if this structure works, the same model could eventually be applied to many other assets.
They also have Season 1 live right now, where users can earn Marks through educational tasks, social activity and referrals.
There’s also a leaderboard with cbBTC rewards for top participants.
Definitely one of the DeFi designs I'm watching closely.

Partner Mainnet is officially LIVE.
A few things worth looking at:
🟠Client side proving: Most transactions can generate STARK proofs in under 3 seconds, even on mobile.
🟠Privacy by architecture: Private account data stays offchain.
Only 32 byte commitments hit the blockchain.
🟠Guardians: An extra security layer that can limit damage from compromised keys without giving Guardians direct control over your funds.
🟠Real usability: USDCx for gas, cross chain bridges and an in protocol DEX through Bread Wallet.
Pretty interesting stack, right?
But there's a catch.
This is an invite only partner mainnet, not the fully decentralized, privacy maximized network yet.
Validators can currently access private transaction inputs and block production is still centralized.
The team is prioritizing safety while the network gets battle tested.
And the next phase looks even more interesting:
• Public mainnet in the coming months
• Migration from Poseidon2 to a Blake3 based hash function
• Stronger ZK block proofs and a better fee model
• Gradual decentralization and removal of privacy guardrails
What I find interesting is that Miden isn't just trying to make transactions faster.
It's trying to rethink how financial infrastructure handles execution, privacy and security at the protocol level.
Where does DeFi yield actually come from?
This is a question more people should be asking.
One thing I find interesting about @2FactorFinance is how its funding mechanism works.
Instead of relying on token emissions or unsustainable rewards, 2Factor connects two types of demand:
•People willing to pay for leveraged BTC exposure.
•People looking to earn yield by providing capital.
And here's where the math gets interesting.
Under the protocol's target 1:3 capital ratio:
If BTC-Sr earns 9% annually, BTC-Jr pays roughly 3% annually for its leveraged exposure.
That's a pretty interesting trade off.
The yield isn't appearing out of nowhere.
It's being transferred between participants with different financial objectives.
Of course, actual rates are variable, and the structure still carries risks.
But I think this is the kind of financial engineering DeFi needs more of.
Less artificial yield.
More sustainable economic mechanisms.
Definitely keeping an eye on 2Factor.

One thing about @0xMiden that deserves way more attention: programmable notes.
Most blockchains treat transfers as simple state updates.
Miden takes a different approach.
Instead of just sending assets from A to B, you can attach executable logic to them.
Think about it:
- A payment that can only be claimed under specific conditions
- An atomic swap that doesn't need a traditional shared smart contract
- Private transfers where the network only sees cryptographic commitments
And here's the interesting part:
Miden combines this with asynchronous execution and zero knowledge proofs.
The receiver can consume a note, execute its logic locally and prove the resulting state transition.
This opens up some pretty interesting possibilities for private DeFi and more flexible onchain applications.
Of course, the UX and infrastructure still need to mature.
But I like the direction Miden is taking.
What if assets weren't just tokens you transfer, but programmable objects that carry their own execution rules?
That's the kind of blockchain design I want to see more of👀

Most people are sleeping on what @0xMiden is actually building.
This isn't just another ZK rollup with a privacy narrative.
Miden is rethinking where blockchain execution happens.
Instead of executing every transaction on shared infrastructure, Miden lets users execute transactions locally and generate their own STARK proofs.
The network verifies the proofs without needing to see the private data.
But here's where it gets interesting:
🟠Client side proving, execution happens on your device
🟠Parallel execution, independent accounts can update state without competing for the same global lock
🟠Hybrid UTXO + account model, programmable notes enable asynchronous interactions
🟠Programmable privacy, public and private accounts can coexist
Think about what this could unlock for private DeFi, onchain trading and applications that can't afford to expose every user action.
Of course, client side proving comes with its own challenges.
But architecturally, Miden is taking a genuinely different approach.
Everyone talks about scaling blockchains.
Miden is asking a better question:
why does the network need to execute everything in the first place?

Low entry barrier. Interesting concept.
Of course, free doesn’t automatically mean valuable.
