I did some "lightning-quick" analysis and visualization (using the awesome @HoloViz_org #Python software stack) to pinpoint the times and locations of lightning strikes on the @UAlbany uptown campus. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ @UAlbanyDAES

The data issues plaguing NWS really need to be permanently addressed. Because the status quo is becoming problematic. I know little about the why, but as someone reliant on NWS data, I just know with hurricane season here it would be reassuring to know these issues are resolved.

After installing the required dependencies (pip install xarray gcsfs zarr), you should be able to copy and paste a snippet from the ARCO-ERA5 readme to load a dataset directly into @xarray_dev
