💔🕊️ Raphinha: “Sorry, tonight I don’t want to talk about football. It’s clear that I want to dedicate this win to the fans, but I want to send a lot of strength to Jesus de Miguel’s family”.
“May he rest in peace. In the end, this can happen to anyone. The truth is that it’s very tough... when we saw the news this morning, it was complicated. I’m incredibly shocked and sad”.
“In the end, you go to play a match, and the same thing could happen to you. From myself, from the club, we want to send a lot of strength to his family”.

He is 25 years 🇬🇶
At 16 he left home for Alavés, telling his mother "I'm sorry, Mom, but I have to make my own life"
He made history as the first player born in Equatorial Guinea to play in La Liga (debuting for Alavés vs Real Sociedad in 2022).
He has said he plays football for his family and to repay the sacrifices his parents made taking him to training every day.
He saved the decisive penalty that helped Equatorial Guinea reach the AFCON quarter-finals for the first time. A historic moment for his country.
He only became a goalkeeper by chance at school when the regular keeper got injured. He volunteered, felt responsible, and never took the gloves off again.
A Marvel fan who collects figures (especially Venom and Thanos) and studies with Beethoven playing in the background. He has worked on emotional intelligence since age 12 after facing racist abuse.
He is currently devastated (destrozado) after an accidental collision in a match that led to the death of Tenerife's Jesús de Miguel. Those who know him describe him as affectionate, sensible and noble, and Andorra is supporting him closely.

Goalkeeper Jesús Owono has just encountered a situation that no one wants to be in.
First player from his country to ever play in Laliga. He made a crucial save for his country that made them advance in the AFCON tournament.
And now, as he was going about his goal of making his parents proud and paying them back in achievements.... He just encountered a very big challenge to that dream.
His passion for the game has put him in a position of extreme mental stress and societal scrutiny.
It's very unfortunate and sad.
He didn't do it on purpose, but unfortunately, a life was lost and people are piling up on him. It's a position no one absolutely wants to be in
.
.
Goalkeeper Jesús Owono has said he will reach out privately to the family of Jesús de Miguel. I can't imagine how devastated he would be in.
The realisation and the guilt that he was the direct contact that led to the death of Jesús de Miguel, and the loss of a father, brother, husband and son.... Can be something heavy that no one would want to go through.
.
.
.
I hope Jesús Owono doesn't do anything drastic, as it's currently overwhelming for him. He has deactivated his Instagram and people have started blaming him for murdering Jesús de Miguel. 💔
This is one of the few times he would have wished he had an injury that prevented him from being in that fateful football match. He would have wished the coach benched him and brought on another goalkeeper for that particular game.
He would have a lot of "what if" in his mind.
Very sad. Very terribly sad
.
.
May the soul of Jesús de Miguel continue to rest in perfect peace.
7 hearts and 7 Doves to honour Jesús de Miguel

He was 30 years old 🇪🇸 🕊️
His wife and 16-month-old daughter were in the Heliodoro stands when the fatal collision happened
After the collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono, he suffered a cardiac arrest lasting around 20 minutes before being resuscitated.
He died at 8:00 a.m on 3 November 2026, aged 30. The club said they were "heartbroken, with a lump in our throats"
When he was 16 years old, he tweeted that he needed to pass every subject or his parents wouldn't let him travel to Tenerife. He passed and later signed for Tenerife
He scored six goals in his first five official games. The most prolific debut in the club's 103-year history
His 11 goals in 2025/26 were decisive in Tenerife's promotion back to Segunda, quickly winning the love of a fanbase desperate for reasons to celebrate.
Known as Demi, he climbed from the lowest Spanish divisions through pure grit, tenacity and hard work
He made his professional debut at 27 with Castellón and scored his first pro goals with a brace.
Despite a painful pubalgia that limited him and better offers elsewhere, he chose to stay and fight for his place at Tenerife
Fans quickly fell for him because of his goals, work rate and habit of appearing in the moments that mattered most.
His name is forever tied to one of the happiest recent chapters in Tenerife's history. The return to professional football.

It's such a devastating experience to be doing your passion and pass away. 🕊️🩶
Both the goalkeeper and the player were on the pitch, putting their entirety into the game. But unfortunately, a life is lost and the other person will forever live in guilt and regret.
.
.
Today, we choose to remember Jesus de Miguel for his dedication and love for the game of football.
We remember him for bringing Tenerife's fans to joy and happiness of being able to play in professional leagues.
And I hope his wife, his 16-month old daughter and his entire family, will have the strength to be there for each other in this very tough period.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. 🕊️🩶
