We couldn't break the news of my dad's passing to his mother for years, being her first and the favorite. Whenever she asked we'll simply say "ọkọ̀ yín wa sugbon wọn travel lọ ìlú ọba". We were shocked one morning when she suddenly said "gbogbo nkan ti ẹ ń bọ̀ ni mo ti ri o" and that was it. For 3 days she refused to eat or drink. We begged, cried and read Al Quran to her, we called on Imams to appeal to her. She refused. Ìyá Ìbejì passed on the third day. 😭 I've learnt my lesson on this issue. If it's for God's to take them after learning about the passing of their son, so be it. The guilt of withholding the info from her almost ruined me. May the Almighty grant all our grannies mercy in paradise
She raised my father When my father dïêd a couple of years ago, I couldn't inform her "Deji, daddy e nko" (Deji, how is your dad?" " Alafia ni daddy mi wa" (He's fine) "So fun ko wa rimi o" (Tell your dad to come and see me) " Yes, ma" That was our routine conversation How will I break the demise of the one she backed and raised to her without preparing for her dêæth as well? Now that you're gone, I'm glad that you slept with the assurance that your omo meji (the twins) are alive Rest on till the resurrection morning, Iya Olobi

- Enrique joined PSG and overhauled the entire squad. - Klopp joined Liverpool and overhauled the entire squad. - Pep joined City and overhauled the entire squad. - Arteta joined Arsenal and overhauled the entire squad. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO DO IT. If people genuinely believe there's a manager out there who can take United back to the top with the same players who've been at this club for 6, 7, 8 or even 10 years, then I've got some REALLY bad news for you.

The story of this 15-year old Ghanaian boy that was k!lled in America is one of the saddest things I have seen. How are 16 year olds having guns? This boy reported to the school authorities that he’s being bullied, the school suspended the bullies. The bullies traced the boy and shot him. I have never seen such in my life, what sort of kids are these? By the way, one day, I want to sit down and listen to people who have had children that were bullies. That is, you’re a father or a mother, and you found out your child is a bully in school, how have you managed it ?

One of the reasons I need to have a kid is so I can go trick or treating with them. Anything I didn’t get to do as a child, we must relive 🙂‍↔️

The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure, let alone from thousands of miles away. Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person. I just got off the phone with President Trump and he has agreed to grant her visa immediately.  All of New York City is mourning this tragedy.

Lazio supporters are showing Manchester United fans how to hold incompetent owners accountable. Despite the club performing well on the pitch, the Curva Nord ultras continue to boycott home matches, season tickets, merchandise, broadcasts and businesses associated with Lazio because they want Claudio Lotito out. Their message is simple: they will not financially or physically support the club while he remains in charge. Manchester United fans, especially those in the UK, need to understand this. You cannot keep giving incompetent owners your money and expect them to change. As long as the money keeps coming in, they have no reason to listen.

Y’all should normalize using your father’s wife as example in these scenarios now.

He died a Christian and should be buried as one. That’s unnecessary provocation in my book
The Toluwanisings saga is interesting becsuse two accounts confirm the man’s family want him buried according to Islamic rights and no one is even pointing to it and perhaps the reasons for his wives alleged refusal. A known gospel minister who profess a different religion, are you all deliberately ignoring that point? I hope his widow is surrounded by LOVE

🚨 Wayne Rooney on people calling Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2008 season overrated: “I’ve seen people questioning Cristiano’s 2008 season again, and I genuinely wonder how many of them watched us play that year. I was there. I played alongside him. I saw what defenders were doing to try to stop him, and I saw what happened when they couldn’t. I remember one game where Cristiano had two players following him almost everywhere. At one point, I said to him, ‘You’ve got two of them worried about you now.’ He looked at me and said, ‘Good. That means somebody else is free.’ And that was the thing people sometimes forget about him. Everyone remembers the goals, the tricks and the celebrations. But when teams started organising their entire defence around stopping one player, the rest of us benefited. There were matches when you’d look up and see Cristiano making another run, even though he’d already made five or six without receiving the ball. I’d tell him, ‘You know you don’t have to chase every goal?’ He’d say, ‘Wayne, if I stop running, how am I going to score?’ You couldn’t argue with him. But Moscow is what I remember most. He’d scored our goal against Chelsea. People forget that sometimes because of what happened in the shootout. When he missed his penalty, I knew exactly what he’d be thinking. He’d scored 42 goals that season, helped us win the Premier League, and suddenly he was standing there believing he might have cost us the biggest trophy of the year. When Edwin saved Anelka’s penalty, everybody went crazy. We were European champions. But Cristiano was crying. I remember looking at him and thinking how strange football can be. A player can have the season of his life, score in the Champions League final, and still spend those last few minutes believing he’s let everyone down. That’s how much it meant to him. And that’s why I find some of the criticism ridiculous. People sit there nearly 20 years later, looking at clips and statistics, trying to explain why it wasn’t that special. We were playing against some of the best defenders in Europe. They knew what he wanted to do. They’d spend the entire week preparing for him. Then Saturday would come, and he’d do it anyway. I’m not saying we didn’t have a brilliant team. Of course we did. We had players who could win games all over the pitch. But even in that dressing room, we knew Cristiano was doing something extraordinary. The funniest thing is that people now use the fact that he played in such a good team against him. Well, I was one of the players in that team. And I can tell you that having Cristiano alongside us made our jobs easier, not his. If you want to argue about which individual season was the greatest, that’s fine. Football is full of opinions. But don’t tell people who were there that what we watched every week wasn’t special. I saw Cristiano win his first Ballon d’Or. I’ve also seen him win four more. And I still think there’s something about that first one that people will never fully understand unless they remember the player he was before he became the Cristiano Ronaldo everybody knows today.”

I pray God continues to grant your family the strength to bear the loss 🙏🏿🙏🏿
My brother died in 2022. I remember him every single day. Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of his transition. I didn't want to post anything about him so as not to trigger grief in the family again, especially for my mum. She asked me for yesterday's date and I told her but left her room immediately. She was moody all through but pretended like she didn't remember. I deliberately avoided any discussion with her about him cos she's still recovering from her stroke which she had after his demise. At what point do we actually move on? Does remembrance actually heal or do more damage to grieving families?

I hope we don’t lose this recipe as Nigerians.
Damon Wayans says that even at 65 years old, if Keenen tells him to get him a soda, he's going to go get it, because in their family, it’s all about an unspoken code of respect, seniority, and brotherly hierarchy. “Yeah, but like even now, this is how my family is. Like, I'm 65 years old and Keenen goes, "Go get me a soda," and I got to go get it.” “If Marlon walks in a room, and you know, if I walk in a room and there's no seats, Marlon gets up. Sean and Keenen will sit, and Marlon will get up and say, "You sit here." And my son will have to do the same thing.” “That's why I love the fact that they have children. Because I go to my theater sometimes and little Damon's there and Mikey's there, and as soon as I walk in the room, the youngest one gets up and lets me sit down without question, and I love that.” “It's just how we do with each other. It's just a quiet code. Some things you don't have to teach, it's just what you see.”
