In November 2025, I publicly called on the Federal Government to protect Mallam Yahaya Masussuka, a Sheikh who consistently preached against extremism and for peace in Northern Nigeria.
Today, he has been killed.
As he once said:
“We are not here as Muslims or Christians, but as Nigerians bound by one destiny. A destiny that can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, tolerance, and unity.”
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
Moved from DELSU to UNIBEN to avoid cultism??
HE ESCAPED HIS PAST—BUT THEY FOUND HIM AT UNIBEN
It was supposed to be a fresh start.
A clean slate.
A chance for Desmond to leave his troubled past behind and finally build the future he wanted.
When he arrived at the University of Benin, he was a final-year Public Administration student who appeared calm, reserved, and focused on one thing—finishing his degree.
To those around him, Desmond seemed completely disconnected from the violent world he had once known.
But there was something about his past that very few people knew.
Years earlier, between 2011 and 2012, Desmond had lived a very different life at Delta State University, Abraka.
He was allegedly a high-ranking member of the Mafite confraternity, reportedly serving as its second-in-command.
And that position placed him directly in the middle of a violent conflict with a rival group known as the Aye Fraternity.
As the confrontation intensified, Desmond allegedly became a major target.
Realizing that his life could be in danger, he made a drastic decision.
He left Abraka.
He relocated to Benin City.
And, according to the account, he decided to completely abandon that old life.
He kept a low profile, distanced himself from his former associates, and tried to build a new identity far away from the violence of his past.
For years, it appeared to work.
Until one decision brought him back into the spotlight.
As graduation drew closer, Desmond assumed a leadership position within Kegite’s Club, popularly known as the Palm Wine Drinkers Club.
It was a social organization, but the position made him more visible around campus.
And somehow, people from his past allegedly recognized him.
The man they believed had disappeared from their world was still alive—and now he was in Benin.
Then came April 3, 2023.
That afternoon, according to reports, armed men allegedly arrived at the University of Benin campus from the direction of Abraka.
They reportedly made their way to Hall 3, found Desmond inside his room, and opened fire.
He was killed instantly.
The student who had tried to escape his former life had been found again.
His death sent shockwaves across the university and left behind a disturbing question:
Can someone truly escape a dangerous past—or can the past follow them wherever they go?
Desmond had changed his environment.
He had changed his identity.
He had tried to change his life.
But on that tragic afternoon, the past he had spent years running from allegedly caught up with him.

everybody has something to say about turbocharged engines nowadays. man stfu ah
During basic training, I told my colleagues that I could conveniently send a man to hell using nothing but a razor blade, and in the most brutal way possible, provided the man had been condemned to death by law and handed over to me.
This is the kind of man I was talking about.

Algeria's parliament has unanimously approved the deployment of troops to neighbouring Niger. This development is coming after a recent defence pact between two both countries.
The military units to be deployed by Algeria are expected to be tasked with securing oil facilities in Niger.
This will be the first mission outside Algeria's borders since the 1973 War between Israel and several Arab countries, known as the October War.
Algeria sent SU-30 fighter jets and air to air refueling planes to Niger in late August to help thwart a coup attempt that shook the capital, Niamey.
It appears Algeria is now prepared to project its military power in the interest of preserving stability in the Sahel. Reports indicate that the Algerian Army has launched a large scale operation along its border with Mali, targeting FLA and JNIM militants. As part of the operation, the Tin-Zaouatine and Timiaouine border crossings have been temporarily closed.
This comes on the heels of Algeria's recent efforts to strengthen its ties with Niger's ruling junta with the deployment of fighter jets to the country.
Now, Niger is of strategic importance to both Algeria and Nigeria when you take into account the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline Project, a 4,100 kilometre energy corridor that will transport natural gas from Nigeria to Algeria's Mediterranean coast.
Over 2,400 kilometres of the pipeline have already been completed across Nigeria and Algeria, while the remaining 1,600 kilometre stretch will pass through Niger.
Contemplate Nigeria and Algeria joining forces to battle militants in Niger that are spilling over the border, it would create an unprecedented, pincer-style military powerhouse capable of reshaping the security landscape of the entire Sahel region.

If you have not put your personal affairs out there, especially on this app, please desist from doing that. There is no wisdom in it, for whatever reason you might want to. At first, it might seem like you are just doing your thing; sharing freely, living openly, or simply expressing yourself. But on a deeper reflection, there is no good return for it.
There are so many people out there who walk around carrying hatred, evil minds, misfortunes, and personal frustrations. They are often looking for something, anything, to use against you, or waiting for the slightest chance to twist your personal affairs and score cheap points in a public discussion. Once it is out there, you no longer control how it is received or used.
Protect yourself.

I stated that the Salafiyya ideology is the basis for the calls by IZALA’s Dan Agaji (volunteer wing) to kill non-Muslims; furthermore, I asserted that the Salafiyya ideology is the root of terrorism within the Muslim world. Many have been insulting me, but take this.
According to a translator, this person is saying:
He should be given AK47
He would then go to Enugu
The land of the infidels
On Sunday when they are worshiping and clapping
He would then open fire
Rudu dududup (sound of gun)
So that he can klll the infideels
He asked to be given AK47 again
So that he can go to Jos
And klll more infiddels
That is the training

Operation Blackout is taking the fight directly to the international cybercriminal networks stealing billions from Americans.
Our latest operation in Nigeria delivered:
9 ARRESTS.
53 electronic devices seized.
$11 MILLION in potentially freezable funds identified across multiple countries.
These scam centers exploit innocent victims, steal life savings, and operate across international borders believing they are beyond the reach of law enforcement.
They’re wrong.
Thanks to Nigerian law enforcement and our partners in London for their outstanding cooperation.
To the criminals targeting Americans from overseas: JUSTICE WILL FIND YOU.

The Nigerian Air Force is training personnel in Italy to maintain its incoming M-346 fighter aircraft, covering airframe, propulsion and engine run procedures.
The programme began on 13 July, with theoretical training in Turin followed by practical sessions at Leonardo’s production facility in Venegono. The final phase is scheduled to conclude today, 25 October.
An important step towards ensuring the NAF has the technical personnel to keep the aircraft serviceable when they arrive.
